Hello,

I would like some help with what I'm attempting to do, and that is as the topic states extend the memory of a Win XP 32 bit machine to 8 gigabytes using physical memory as virtual memory.

So basically I have a CP 32 bit workstation (4GB of memory installed) that's ridicolously slow on CAD due to the 3.25 GB memory limit having to constantly use 2 gb of page file space. I plan on adding another 4 to have a total of 8GB so my question is if anyone could help describe the proces (if possible) to make a 4,75GB virtual disk (4gb of new ram + the 0,75gb hole from 3.25 to 4) and use it as a page file on a daily basis (or 4 gb if it can't use the "hole" ram)

I apologize in advance if a topic like this has already been discussed and I failed in finding it.

I understand: imdisk uses OS available RAM and doubt the request at XP 32 bit.

What about another approach? Gavotte's RRamdisk at PAE mode

Try this at current hardware, a 700 mb pagefile at virtual disk should work.
If this works, add 4 GB physical RAM.
