Interesting info, but I couldn't help but notice that 3 topics with the same name, all appearing to link to the same URL, posted by reboot.pro esteemed user Wonko the Sane, appeared on the front page of these forums. And after checking, they are indeed 3 different topics by the same name and with the same link. Is it not totally redundant for you to do this? I would say one topic would have been sufficient.

I also can't help but notice that you're an admin on another similiar forum, 911cd.net, where you and other admins frequently ban/punish users who do essentially the same as you have done (the only difference being that you provided an interesting link, whereas most spammers generally dont. So, unless you somehow accidentally post not one, not two, but *three* identical topics, which I highly doubt is the case, then it would appear that you have committed the very offense which you otherwise seem to hate.

I'm sure others here will side with you, but I'm not afraid to call BS when I see it, even at the risk of a ban. I would say you're not so much the booting masters that others here believe you to be, although there is no doubt you're highly experienced. If anything, an admin (since you're no longer one here) should delete two of these 3 topics from your already substantial post count.

And it's nothing personal, I say all of this with all due respect.

Which is good. :) (the due respect I mean)

Yesterday the board had issues (error 524 as you might have noticed):

http://reboot.pro/to...-does-not-work/

and accidentally the post request was executed thrice, as access was - at the best - intermittent.

You seemingly don't understand the difference between someone being part of a community and sharing information with fellow members (usually about free, freeware and open source projects) and SPAMmers (that post links to Commercial software, usually additionally crappy commercial software, invariably at their first post, often reviving senselessly long inactive threads).

As said (and as it would have been evident had you connected the temporary board malfunctioning with the appearance of duplicate and triplicate posts/threads) it was unintentional, if you prefer a glitch in the matrix, and I had no way to correct the issue (as I could not access anymore the board till now), hopefully an Admin/Mod will be able to delete the duplicate threads, which - now that I have regained access to the board - I clearly marked as such.

Of course there is no relationship of any kind between this accident, the Rules of a (another) board, the way I personally enforce them as Admin, and my knowledge and abilities related to computing generally and to  booting particularly, however, JFYI,  I am The Finder (please take note of the CAPITAL T and F) and also:

http://reboot.pro/to...slinux/?p=20350

"a minor and obscure deity, Lord of IPL and booting matters", so your "due respect" does not come even near to what I deserve.

Inspite I do not like some properties of Wonko (endless lists of links ...), I know him as serious and very helpful member, who really does not want to spam the forum!

I made the other two posts invisible.

Let's clear one thing up. For one, I do not *owe* you or anyone else respect. So you can get off your high horse and drop the attitude that people owe you anything. I grew up in an atmosphere where people gave respect when they felt it had been earned. You had to prove your worth. Since I haven't been in this forum long, and haven't bothered to read all your posts (and why should I?), then so far as I'm concerned you're just another average member who happens to have a high post count.

"Yesterday the board had issues"............what a joke. This board has issues the majority of the times I've tried to access it. A new webmaster is direly needed.

In any case, I think you submitted the post 3 times, possibly seeing that it wasnt showing up, and yet knowing there were issues. Submitting it only once would like have resulted in it only appearing once. I have yet to encounter a board where a post was submitted just once yet showed up 2 or more times. In every case of multiple identical postings, it was always the poster being impatient and not seeing that board issues had resulted in a delay between a post's submittal and appearance. Or, more often, it was a spammer. I know full well what a spammer is, I'm aware that they usually make junk posts filled with commercial links.

You're obviously still stuck in the past, probably still using a ZX81 or similiar from God knows when, and still believing that BIOS is the best firmware for PCs, even though UEFI is steadily taking over. You seem to needlessly hate on UEFI despite its' flaws, using that as a blanket excuse to not like it ("you cannot use UEFI and sane in the same sentence"), all the while ignoring BIOS's huge, gaping, galaxy-sized flaws. Embrace UEFI for what is is, despite its' problems, it is an infant from a computing standpoint and will improve with time. Get with the program called the present/future that most of us live in, or stay stuck in the past forever. Your call.

"The" doesnt normally begin capitalized, except at the beginning of a sentence. You clearly got your name from some retarded Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy sci-fi BS, not original in the least. And "Wonko" sounds like a nutter's name. While mine isnt entirely original either, I have more respect for people that post until their real, full name, with an actual picture of themselves.

Change your name one time to Jacopo Lazzari, sans the frills and special titles, and post your real pic, I'll do the same. I donr think you'll take me up on this but would love to be proven wrong.

Inspite I do not like some properties of Wonko

Properties? :w00t:

Which ones?

I have only a car and a small flat.

You used that word:

http://dictionary.re...browse/property

and here is a link for you:

http://knowyourmeme....-think-it-means

Spoiler

@AnonVendetta

Had you spent some time on the board, you would have easily found why my nick is now Wonko the Sane, it's not - to cite one of the masterpieces by Douglas Adams "on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying 'Beware of the Leopard'", it's here, in plain view (actually it remained though it should have not been, an actual "sticky" in the "News" section):

http://reboot.pro/forum/27-news/

http://reboot.pro/to...-all-the-bytes/

Wonko (the Sane) is a character, or if you prefer an alias, I had to put up to completely detach me (jaclaz) from the Administration of this board, Wonko the Sane as a character is very similar to jaclaz, the difference is that he has no obligations towards the board, nor empowerments by it and thus he is much more prone than jaclaz to talk freely.

And sure you don't *owe* me (or anyone else) respect, you actually claimed to be using in your post the "all due respect", it was a free decision on your part to declare this particular respectfulness in your post.

Since you mentioned it, I couldn't help but notice and tell you that the amount of respect in it didn't meet the minimum requisites of "due" in the sense of "adequate, sufficient", though you don't *owe* that respect, I deserve more than what you showed.

However, rest assured that very few things could interest me less than knowing your real name or viewing a picture of you.

You have the advantage that you know my real name (basically because I never did anything to hide it, it's not like you are a world class investigator), but unfortunately this board is viewed by many people so I cannot post a picture of myself, children would be scared, etc.

As you might find here:

http://reboot.pro/to...-into/?p=192511

http://reboot.pro/to...-into/?p=192512

someone else had a similar problem in the past (double posting):

Edit: Another accidental double post. Damn it Opera! My browser seens to have a long delay when submitting a post, but oftentimes gives no indication that it was submitted/posted successfully. I do wish the mods/admins would provide a way for a posting user to delete his dupe post, so long as no one has reponded yet. Is it really so hard or unreasonable to allow that? Or perhaps it's just a downside of the chosen forum/BBS software.

LinkedIn says you're a "technical consultant in engineering and construction". Engineers and consultants typically make a good deal of money, I have yet to meet one in dire straits. So the only explanation can be that you're frugal with your money (or your wife blows most of it on junk at your expense). Given your experience, perhaps you can give us a technical blow-by-blow of what caused the World Trade Centers to collapse (and dont even claim the jet fuel melted the steel girders, no kerosene fire can ever burn that hot).

Wonko the Sane and Jaclaz obviously have either multiple/split personality disorder, since you frequently refer to yourself in the 3rd-person view.

I seriously doubt you're ugly enough to make kids scream. I'm no handsome guy either. Just figured I'd offer it as a challenge.

As for my 2 posts, they were posts, not topics, and I acknowledged it minutes after the fact as a mistake. It's not my fault that some browsers interact badly with the board software. In Opera it's hard to edit my posts without using the Full Editor option and reloading the page, since my changes wont show up (for me to see) until I do so.

Please stop this futil arguing, It is perfectly understandable forum has issues and that's the cause of triple topics, on the other hand you are hijacking this topic with irrelevant post and that is intentional.   And if you want respect, start respecting other people first.

Best Regards

@ Alacran: I never asked for respect, never will, and dont expect it. I recognize that it must be earned. I havent been a member here long enough or contrubuted enough to have earned it. Wonko, on the other hand, seems to have a superiority complex, and thinks people should give him something unconditionally.

hi AnonVendetta,

you certainly chose a good username here. once we get over ourselves we really start to grow! you can bang heads with Wonko but I think you will find that that is a waste of time. I could be wrong.. others have run off in a childish fits dealing with him. if you can ease up a bit I think you might be glad you did.

your stance on UEFI says alot more than you think too but thats all I have time to write about it for now.

as for the OP, its outta my league. more details with it would have saved me some time reading all that to just to find out that it is indeed out of my league LOL but it certainly is interesting.

hi to Wonko, pscEx, & alacran also ;-)

thanks

What about my username? It's just a name. Just because I like a particular movie and its' M.O. means nothing. All my life I've been antisocial, never had more than a few friends, did well in school but was always picked on, not afeaid to tell people what I think of them, had jobs and relationships disintegrate. I wont go on.But now that I'm a grown man, I view it as my life's mission, to take revenge, a vendetta so to speak, against everyone that has either did me wrong or doubted me, and to show the world what I'm really capable of. I dont care what others think, who I piss off, and possess a degree of motivation and bullheadedness that makes me near unstoppable.

And no, I wont be leaving reboot.pro due to my not liking Mr. Lazzari.

Sure, because you had access to the board "minutes after the fact", while in this case of 524 I only regained access to the board the day after, only to find your ridiculous post senselessly accusing me of being a SPAMmer (BTW what you should have done if you thought those duplicated threads to be SPAM would have been to use the Report button to report them to the Admin/Mods of the board).

LinkedIn says you're a "technical consultant in engineering and construction". Engineers and consultants typically make a good deal of money, I have yet to meet one in dire straits. So the only explanation can be that you're frugal with your money (or your wife blows most of it on junk at your expense). I may (should LinkedIn be right).
Of course the reason why engineers and consultants make a good deal of money is because they are payed in exchange for their work, so, if you really want to hire me to have an opinion on that tragic building collapse, you would probably need to start saving the money for my fees.

All my life I've been antisocial, never had more than a few friends, did well in school but was always picked on, not afeaid to tell people what I think of them, had jobs and relationships disintegrate. I wont go on.

This explains a lot, and though sad :(, so it's life, sometimes.

But now that I'm a grown man, I view it as my life's mission, to take revenge, a vendetta so to speak, against everyone that has either did me wrong or doubted me, and to show the world what I'm really capable of. I dont care what others think, who I piss off, and possess a degree of motivation and bullheadedness that makes me near unstoppable.

And, besides near unstoppable, pretty much annoying, allow, me.

IMHO you have clearly demonstrated by now both your ability in pissing off other people and your bullheadedness, maybe now it would be time to show the world what you are really capable of (I mean besides pissing off people and being bullheaded).

And no, I wont be leaving reboot.pro due to my not liking Mr. Lazzari.

Which is good :), however, though I am pretty sure that there is no actual requirement to *like* him, there is not actually any written rule about the *need* to senselessly attack other members (including Mr. Lazzari), as a matter of fact current Board Rules Site Policies (inspired by those at Amnesty International  :w00t: if i recall correctly):
http://reboot.pro/to...-site-policies/

have a particular accent on respect of other members and of their privacy, something that your latest posts seem like not complying with.

@ dummkopf007: You're just what this community needs.....another spammer.....stop masking your URLs behind link shorteners that are eseentially pages that are filled with ads, misleading links, popups/popunders, malware, and who knows what else. Next time, just post a direct link to whatever you want your target audience to see.

@ dummkopf007: Yeah, sure, whatever. Right now I'm using Firefox while booted into a Parted Magic distro, with AdBlock Plus installed by me as an addon. And yet, despite all of that, when I clicked the 2nd link (the one to watch the video), already knowing what was up, it sure enough came up with some iLivid BS. Which is well-known to be a notorious malware for Windows. In any case, a *DIRECT* link to the video would be better. I don't really need to watch it though, I've read enough scientific reports that I already have a pretty7 good idea what most likely caused the collapse. It certainly wasn't because of the steel supposedly melting, ala The Wicked Witch of the West style, but that's what most people have been led to believe. Since Wonko presumably has knowledge on structural engineering, and therefore how buildings are built, I asked for his take on it, as a challenge.
