Right now I did an upload of a new version to the native_Ex_barebone WEB server.
The old version is still available here

If you download, please do it into an empty directory or check the complete project.

Many thanks to MedEvil for a lot of ideas, discussions, scripts and snippets

The current version really is PEDrive free.
Inside all scripts, generated scripts, generated registry lines etc. there is no %PEDrive%, hardcoded X: ore similar.

Everything is corresponding to %systemdrive% which is resolved during boot time (alternatively to the RAM drive letter, usually B:).

The project runs with
  • Standard ISO with RAM drive
  • BootSDI w/o RAM drive
  • BootSDI with RAM drive and Profiles Dir on RAM drive
  • BootSDI with RAM drive and Profiles Dir on System drive
I'm waiting for responds how it is working on your system!

BTW: The project runs under WB 069 beta 2 which undefined a lot of PEDrive and similar variables.
It would give errors if one of these variables is used.
But it also runs under older WB versions, I think, since 067.

Works as advertised. I really dont understand the relevance of the PEDrive settings but I can tell from the writtings that it will makes things more flexible when building so "Excellence  " for you guys in making it so.

MedEvil PMed me that the way I changed buildModel into the PEDrive free version is rather stupid.
He is right!

I tried to modify the old way, inspite logically there -w/o PEDrive- is a quick and simple new way.
logically it has been easy. But implementing was a little bit hard.

The main reason:
It is difficult to check the contents of a variable whether it is e.g. the string '%bla%'.
If inside WinBuilder the variable %bla% exists, the compare is made with the contents of %bla%, not with the string itself.

But now I have a running solution which I soon will upload.

Peter
