Hi good ppl.
I have big problem with friends notebook (Acer aspire One).
Trying to reinstal Win XP on that notebook and find this awesome site.
Now I download USB_multiboot_10, extract and run and then my nightmare come.
First of all I run Win 7 on my computer and When I run multiboot in menu choose option "H", small window appear with message: "Permission denied. The administrator rights are required to run this tool."
Im ONLY owner of my computer and have administrator rights. Then I try to run multiboot with right click on my mouse and choose "run as administrator" but then appear this message: "ERROR - File makebt\TEE.BAT is missing.Press any key to continue..."
When that option dont work I try to skip format USB stick with option "N" in the menu, on next menu I choose option "1" and select XP setup source path (in my case is CD_ROM G:).
After that I select option "2" and multiboot says: "G: has NOT FAT FAT32 or NTFS Format and is NOT Valid"
I must say that I try ANNY format with Windows 7 and HPUSBFW located in multiboot folder.
I dont know what to do now.
USB stick is Maxell 2GB

Best regards and sorry for my bad english

Try reading this:

USB_MultiBoot.cmd is Vista Compatible, but requires User Account Control OFF.

Replacing "Vista" with "Windows 7".

Read the whole thing:
http://www.boot-land...?showtopic=4900

Try using other methods:
http://www.msfn.org/...s-usb-f157.html

Use an XP PC if you cannot turn UAC off, you cannot AFAIK use Windows 7 without turning it off.

TYVM I solve this problem on other PC with Win XP, but end of my agony is not over  .
First when I boot Aspire One from USB in first time says that cant find any hard drive, so I go to BIOS and change SATA mode from AHCI to IDE and on one moment looks fine. Aspire One boot from USB, instal win XP, reboot, change boot priority in BIOS from USB to Hitachi HDD and then message says:
Windows could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuraton problem. Could not read from the selected boot disk. Check boot path and disk hardware. Please check the Windows documentation about hardware disk configuration and your hardware reference manuals for additional information.

I try to change HDD mode back from IDE to AHCI but then dont recognize HDD.
Sometime message says:
Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: <Windows root>\system 32\hal.ini. Please reinstall a copy of the above file.

I must say that I use PE Builder and WinSetupFromUSB software but both fail.
Now Im desperate since 2 days trying install XP on Aspire on notebook.

You have 2 (3) stages of XP setup:

1) Text mode
2) GUI mode
3) First start of the freshly installed Windows

With USB_multiboot you start to enter 1) 2) and 3) every time from USB. Unplug USB stick and start from internal disk after first logon in Windows and after desktop is completely loaded.
With WinSetupFromUSB later versions you start for 1) and 2) from USB.

Was that the mistake you made?

@Zvjerko

Have a look here in post #4 and #6
http://www.msfn.org/...ve-t138651.html

After booting XP with USB-stick connected, have a look in XP Disk Management.
Most likely the partition on which you installed XP has not been set Active.

R-mouse on My Computer > Computer Management > Disk Management
R-mouse on Partition with XP > Set Active

Have a look also at boot.ini on your C: drive of your Harddisk.
Check if its boot entry reflects your current partitioning.
Use rdisk(0)partition(1) for XP installed on first partition
Use rdisk(0)partition(2) for XP installed on second partition
