Hallo,

the boot Logo change from Tweaks/"VistaPE Expansion Pack" is not working when I'm using Vista SP1 or higher as source.
When I'm using Vista SP0 as source the boot logo change is working fine.

It looks as if changing the boot logo in SP1 and higher is a pretty big deal, involving a patched system file that probably isn't redistributable. And patching on the fly looks difficult; there's a GUI tool to do it (http://www.vista123....a-visual-master) but apparently no command-line tool. So it's likely I'll just remove the boot screen option.

No probably about it. We do seem to allow information on patching system files though.

Yep. It appears that the image is in a WIM that's embedded in the executable, which is checksummed before it's allowed to run. I don't see any instructions for patching, I'd heve to reverse-engineer the GUI tool. Not worth it.

Hello JonF

I found that thread when I was researching the issue. It pointed me to a GUI tool for patching the files.

A few posts up I wrote "It appears that the image is in a WIM that's embedded in the executable, which is checksummed before it's allowed to run. I don't see any instructions for patching, I'd have to reverse-engineer the GUI tool. Not worth it.".

I appreciate your effort, but I haven't changed my mind. It would be a great deal of effort and not worth it.
