Here I can neither smile or oversee.
In my opinion here a member is trying to dominate the board with his own opinion / understanding / assumption, and that should be avoided.
Alternatively I should be excluded if there is the opinion that I'm trying to dominate the board with my opinion about 'What is the best for the average user'
Comeon peter
, when Rule #12 says TAKE IT EASY, it means
TAKE IT EASY!
Technical matters should be faced by means of a technical approach, not of an emotional one.
To have a technical approach people must know what he/she is talking about, it is simply pointless to discuss "advanced" with people that simply miss (at the moment) the background and knowledge.
You know how much we differ on the way to post info and to exchenge it, I point people (you included) to sources, you regularly refuse to read anything that goes beyond first link.
Sometimes following a link opens the mind more than stubbornly insisting that you aren't going to read info given in links, but you won't change your attitude (for the reasons afore mentioned) and I will continue to post links.
The common point between you and me is that we both try and resolve problems, as said mostly for the fun of it or for the challenge that finding a solution represents.
We both take this thing seriously, and usually we both make sure that the
mouth fingers
is are connected to the brain before
talking typing.
But from time to time it can happen that emotion makes you create a fuss over nothing or very little.
It is a fact that for not rational reasons there is an ongoing quarrel between you and Lancelot.
As I said and posted several times, my opinion is that it is due mainly to the
poor English you both use when communicating (not meant as an offence to either
).
But you cannot bring the whatever happened/is happening between you in a technical discussion generally and in this one particularly, for the simple reason that, in a very different manner, you both don't know enough of the topic at hand. (and again, a simple consideration, not intended as an offence)
Lancelot is too young and missing experience to really understand what is going on with VDK.
You miss - for your own admission - any specific experience with MBR, bootsectors, filesystems and kernel drivers, and besides you repeatedly refused to delve any deeper in these topics.
If any of you wants to be offended a bit more, you can go back here and re-read to referesh your memory:
http://www.boot-land...?...c=8214&st=7AFAIK the only people on the board with the actual "right" kind of knowledge are Olof and karyonix (there may be many more but the two mentioned ones are evidently the ones that showed it openly), and in a slightly smaller measure, joakim and possibly erwan.l (and once again no offence intended to the mentioned and unmentioned members).
The "conversation" about VDK on the referenced thread resembles a bunch of headless chicken squeaking (how?
) in different languages, and BTW a technically oriented mind should refrain from even peeking inside a thread:
LiveXP -- Anything & Everything
Look only Post #1 and Last Posts of this topic
which is clearly, from the title itself, a kind of blog, an unreadable series of unconnected items mixed together and shaken well. (which is BTW a pity, since the contents are often interesting, but they are simply unorganized in such a way that they become useless.
Q: Is there a problem with VDK?
A: Yes. I could add now a whole lot of links to reports that were made since the smart procedure was detailed and (its "stupid" BootSDI name was invented) about problems with VDK, but you won't read them, so let's do the right thing, just one link:
http://www.boot-land...?showtopic=9195to a new thread, in the new section "Filedisk/Ramdisk drivers" where to technically discuss the issues, stopping this §@#çing stupid and senseless quarreling, and ONLY approach the problem and hopefully solve it.
If anyone wants to join there, to either give ideas or report behaviours or commenting his/her own experience, he/she is very welcome, AS LONG as this is done in a positive, constructive way.
First reference to the current dispute, first even only vaguely remark or taking sides, and I will enforce ALL the powers I have as Administrator of the Board, I am not kidding
, don't put me in a situation where I will need to use them.
And this thread is now CLOSED.
