Why the first post of this thread hasn't been updated with v0.80?

Why the first post of this thread hasn't been updated with v0.80?

Because we like to make things difficult?
Because we are a bunch of bastards? :D
Bercause Pauly has not the "powers" to edit original post? :)

I found no way to upgrade the attachments in the topic post, and no way to add new attachments now.

I just thought there were administrators, moderators, or otherwise people who care a little and not speaking to speak on this forum. Perhaps I was wrong.

If people with the proper rights read this: please edit this tread for the sake of everyone.

Well, it is possible of course that you are wrong :sos:, all I can say knowingly is that there were at least one .

But this raises anyway an interesting philosophical question. :)

Members are supposed to NOT comment publicly Forum moderation, as per Rule #8:
http://www.boot-land...?showtopic=9101

Now, would commenting publicly actual lack of it be included in Rule #8? :D

Hi Pauly,

very nice new version

But there seems to be a problem with with the new BCD edit feature.

when ever I click on any entry of the "Add" menu a error occurs

RegCreateKeyEx access denied!

this happen on windows XP and also on windows 7.

Also can you give command line support for:

activation
hide /unhide
change ID

functions please?

Hi Pauly.

Thanks a lot for a very nice tool. But we have a probblem, hope you can fix it fo us. When using BootIce to process MBR, the USB cannot boot with Foxconn G31 main. If I connect the USB first (which prcessed MBR by BootIce), the PC can not start and crash until I remove it and reboot again. When using MultiBootISOs to process MBR, it 's OK (I tried some tools, but only MultiBootISOs work).

I hope you can fix it for us. Thank you very much!

(sorry for my English).

See here:

Apparently MultiBootISO uses FBINST as partitioning/formatting utility, and if your motherboard ONLY boots with it, it means that the motherboard is non-standard and only one of the "very advanced" tricks FBINST does can work on it (at the cost of not having a "standard" partitioning scheme).

Thanks for ur reply!

Actually I want to create a USB with hidden partition contains grldr, menu.lst and ISO files. If I process MBR using RMprepUSB or BootIce, it can automatically find grldr file (on any even hidden partition). However, that USB can not boot Foxconn G31 main.

Then, use FBINST:

http://www.boot-land...?showtopic=7932

What you need to know is that it's partitioning scheme is UNstandard (which is a good thing since it seemingly allows booting your "peculiar" motherboard) so you have to know that using on it "smart" tools like partition magic or Acronis Disk Director or similar will most probably give you errors or problems, as well as many other "dumb" partition related tools.

In a nutshell, when whatever else fails, FBINST may be the solution :) , but as always happens in life :) it comes with (a very small) price to pay: being incompatible with a number of tools/apps.

 YES actually! AND you should blame (opera browser + middle mouse button) I go to main page, middle click all that is interesting to me (which BTW is not limited to BootLand only at times) when there are too many pages open :) quick read and close tab button is more attractive then typing replies... :) (if you see my speed dial numbers you'll go crazy :) )

You should post such questions in general forum. I doesn't apply to Bootice cause, if I got you right.

I can recomend for you this free undelete software, if your lost partition was NTFS. Or another great stuff. Or classical undelete utilities.

Good luck!

Just found something to be taken care of in Bootice 0.8.1- in some occasions if there is an open handle to the volume being manipulated, "PARTS MANAGE-->ReFormat USB stick" wrongly reports success, but the drive actually is not reformatted, all the original content and filesystem are as they were.

Whereas using "PARTS MANAGE-->Format this part" accurately reports that there is an open handle to this volume and asks whether to format it anyway, answering "yes" leads to successful format.

This is under Windows 7, x64, the open handles must have been from explorer.exe.

Hi Pauly,

Also can you give command line support for:

functions please?

@Pauly

It would be nice if you could add support for two operations from command line.

some additional switches like commercial command line tool gdisk32 from Symantec Ghost Solution Suite.
# Activate or deactivate a partition (/ACT and /-ACT)
# Hide or unhide a partition (/HIDE and /-HIDE)

Pauly is a member here :pulpfiction: , but he has NO obligation whatever to release his tools here nor to post info here (and in English).
He now has his own place:
http://www.ipauly.com/bbs/
And he releases them there:

WHAT :w00t: is the problem/issue with you?

WHO do you think should be thanked (if not the Author)?
