Because I think that this is important and hopefully Nuno reads this soon, I create a new topic rather than append to a similar existing one.

I now get a Trojan warning when clicking 'Forum Rules' :frusty:

Reason seems to be the same like DoleBludger explained here (empty {gzip})
  • Either Nuno changed the party and now is a HackerZ
  • Or he urgently should check the 'commercial addons' of the last time (like the 'google ads' feature)

Translation in layman's language:
  • Avast is a bit paranoid
  • A few users are using Avast
  • Avast reports a terrible danger (or users perceive it as such)
  • This terrible danger is - at the moment - ONLY visible to Avast users

In any case is NOT a Virus and NOT a Trojan, it may be a vulnerability IF malicious code WILL be vehiculated through the "phantom" 0 byte {gzip} file, given that it is possible at all. I mean it won't be a 0 byte file IF and WHEN it will contain a payload, or not? :frusty: And possibly when it will not be anymore 0 byte situation will be different and more antivirii/antimalware should be able to detect the hypothetical malicious content.

As I see it at the moment is just a nasty thing, that needs to be fixed not because there is a real "danger" but because it is a nuisance to AVAST users.

FYI, I get a virus alert from Avast when I click on Frequently Asked questions, too, for 8195\{gzip}: JS:ScriptIP-inf [Trj]

If I don't seem to reply to an urgent topic, please send me a direct email to look into topic so that it won't be missed.

On this case, I'm really puzzled on why it will signal a specific page.

Especially since we have so many other pages that could be considered as harmful content. Maybe knowledge about booting computers is considered dangerous but what can one do? :frusty:

There is a more worrying message that is displayed to people visiting http://boot-land.net/url

Under Firefox from Ubuntu I see no problem but under Firefox from OSX, a google message is displayed as a potentially dangerous page.

Please let me know if your browsers also display the same.

---------------

I doubt that google adsense is responsible for any bad behavior, would perhaps be more quick to point my finger on the other publicity networks that are being used on the site.

But we can't also forget that boot-land.net is growing and we talk about many matters that could be potentially dangerous to users.
