That means, that your WAIK can not mount your boot.wim!
What WAIK did you use?

BaseDir : I:\New folder (6)

May be, this is the problem?
Use BaseDir without spaces in Folder name!

in your log-file, your %BaseDir% is D:\WinBuilder077_RC2\
in your CheckSource-file, your %BaseDir% is I:\New folder (6)
I think, there is the problem if the script overwrites the variable %BaseDir%. When I look in my logs, both direcotries have the same entry

btw why don't you use winbuilder 078 SP1?

Hi all,
First post on this forum, would like to thank all active members for sharing their experiences and helping out. Have been reading for months now, and in the past I have build some liveXP and NativeX projects. Before that, I used pxe boot floppy's.

I would like to give some feedback on Joshua's Win7Rescue project.
First problem I had was with the WAIK. I'm running Windows XP SP3, downloaded WAIK for Windows 7, latest release from Microsoft.
Turned out that something went wrong mounting the WIM's, resulting in copy errors later on in the project.
I can confirm that WAIK for Windows 7 is NOT compatible with the XP operating system, as we can see on Microsoft's download page.
After installing the WAIK for Vista (link on Joshua's page) the build completed successfully. Winbuilder 078 SP1.

My goal is to pxe-boot the WIM in ram, from there I need some basic tools like partitioning, recovery and network support to launch OS installs from a network share.

I could not not get it to work with 256MB of system ram. It loads fine with 512MB though. This is with "recommended" setting selected. I could try the minimum configuration, but I've stripped the addon's and the apps already. Nearly all the apps I need are "portable" on the server as compressed images. When needed, they decompress in RAM and launch from there, to keep the size of the WIM as small as possible.
Surprise was the size of the WIM. I did build a Win7PE before, and the resulting WIM was only 180MB but more complete, my Win7Rescue WIM is 192MB but rather "stripped down" as compared to Win7PE.
A small WIM is better, loads faster on the network. My NativeX build was 78MB SDI image, with Hanewin's DHCP server and ack disabled it loads in seconds.

PENetwork from Holger is fantastic to work with. In this project however, we have to close it manually. In other projects there is an option to close PENetwork after the network is started.
I tried to change the net script from "wait" to "nowait" but then Win7Rescue loaded without loading network drivers etc.
As a result, my postconfig apps would not launch either.
I hope this can be changed some day.

Win7Rescue is the best project I've worked with until now. It provides a solid base to start from. I'll be glad to test and post my experiences on this forum.

Regards,
Escorpiom.

I tried navigating to your (Joshua) winbuilder website but firefox warned me of your website being reported as "Attack Site".

When I click "why is this site being blocked" an google website pops up stating two trojans virus being hosted on your website.

Just thought I would pass this along... The attachments are screenshots of the messages

having problem with networking - everything seems to build and all other apps work fine, except penetwork, if I look in the target dir it has created a penetwork in the program files folder but it is empty? and the entry in the startmenu in pe obviously does nothing as the shortcut has nothing to point too

Any ideas? log attached

also get this error if I check the box to check for updated script during build - n.b. other scripts manage to download and update okay though

(PENetwork.script) WebGet - [http://holger.winbui...etwork_ver.txt] to directory: [%BaseDir%\Projects\Win7RescuePE\Net\PENetwork_ver_tmp.txt] Socket Error # 11002

Hi Darren,

It looks like PEnetwork files are not being downloaded. Socket error 11002 means that the hostname cannot be resolved, this is usually a temporary issue.
Try to download again and make sure that the files are downloaded. Check your project folder.
It also looks like there are old files present in base folder, as Mohammed said be sure to delete everything before redownloading.

Cheers,
Escorpiom.

Three smaller bugs in 3-Basic-files.script:

Maybe they are already fixed (I'm changing something for nativeWimEx, and therefore did not download for a while)
If,NotExistDir,"%tx%\Manifests",DirMake,%tx%\Manifests"
Missing quote

In [CopyFonts] the source of fonts should be %bw% rather than %iw%

In CreateDirs one directory is forgotten:
If,NotExistDir,"%tw%\Fonts",DirMake,"%tw%\Fonts"

BTW: [CopyFonts] is executed twice.

Darren, can you look in your project dir "\Winbuilder\Projects\Win7RescuePE\Net" to see if the PENetwork package is there?
Are you using 64 bit source?

Cheers,
Escorpiom.

after dozens of attempts it has finally worked, not sure what it is with any of the winbuilder urls, but it seems to take an age sometimes to get to them - even if I enter http://holger.winbuilder.net/scripts in IE I have to refresh page dozens of times before page comes up, think this is why scripts keep failing and the download projects section in winbuilder also fails 9 times out of 10
