Sorry Doc, my brain was yesterday on vacation or something, forget my post about how to fix the reg2wbs file.
Simply use the original reg file and put it in reg2wbs again, but this time uncheck output API style.

Doc, for that archive you have to deliver instructions.
It's for sure no script, working or otherwise.

Managed to kinda get WMP9 installed...SK Jukebox then whinged about needing a newer version of the wmp control set...so obviously I need to be looking at WMP11.

To be honest i cheated with my script i copied the windows/system files into the iso file rather than scripting it in to copy them accross. Maybe once I get something working ill post the files up and let you fellas fix the small details. Probably would take one of you guys 5 mins to fix.

The registry entries appear to be going into the registry now anyways. The tracker program comes highly recommended. it dumps a standard .reg file after an install so extremely useful.

Oh well ill install WMP11 on a VM tonight and see if i can get that installed on naughtyPE. Ill try to get a video up on youtube once its done to demo.

I think it would be a great idea to offer this out as a script as part of naughtyPE once its done.

May this can help, a list of the dll files used when SK Jukebox is running.

May you also need to register this files and the ActiveX files (*.ocx;*.dll) in the SK Jukebox folder.

sample
regsvr32 wmp.dll

Thanks for that JFX, that will save me a fair bit of time. Strange why does it need to use winsock (WSOCK32.dll) for I wonder? It doesnt use the internet for anything as far as i know.

If you have SK Jukebox installed I recommend you have a play with it its a great app and a great way to organise your mp3/cd collection.

Hopefully I will get this lot sorted very soon. You will be getting a credit :frusty:

Most likely not all of this files are needed, but they are listed by Processexplorer.

offtopic ,

just thought of it .not sure if u like it or not.

make a virtual box machine of xp sp3 . install sound driver (which it installs by defult on my system at least , even for internet too) .

now set it up with jukebox , wmp11 etc etc AND virtualbox addons . see if it works from there ,if size is an issue ,try any xplite if u need portable version i can give u.by using it u can slim down ur installed xp since u r gonna use it for only music stuff .

now make a very minimal pe WITH virtualbox script from here,

http://steelbone.boo...alBox_SB.script

if u r booting from usb , add virtual box image to ur usb drive. or if from dvd then add it in there.

when desktop loads , execute virtual box , select ur saved xp sp3 image to boot from . when desktop loads , map the drive to ur mp3 collection on usb or in hdd. and start playing it .

im not sure if u have to install sound driver in pe also for making sound work . since u already have virtual box sound driver installed. then u have driver import pe (dipe ) .

IM NOT SURE IF THE ABOVE WORKS , BUT LOGICALLY IT IS BOUND TO WORK . VIRTUAL BOX SCRIPT NOT TESTED.

Sounds like a challenge JFX, god knows it has been for me anyways. Ill see if i can get something sorted tonight.

The little process I have developed to give you a few pointers...

WMP11 needs windows XP SP2 as minimum requirements so you need a Win XP SP2 virtual machine.

I use a combination of VMWare thinapp to dump the installed files and a program called Tracker to dump a .reg file.

I use reg2wbs to convert the reg file

I then throw the script together...

Thats about it..

Even if I dont do it it will be a nice feature for naughtyPE. SK Jukebox is definatly worthy of being included.

Regards

Thank you for the hints

I also use Thinapp for capturing the files, but using RegShot2 for the Registry

Okay let's have some fun...

If i remember correctly, someone posted in this thread a link to a WMP11 plugin for BartPE.
May i suggest, that you simply use this + DirectX script from LiveXP. Then you only have the trouble of finding a few missing bits and pieces, if any.

Im going to have a go anyways, if i dont manage ill try to dig out those scripts. I suppose doing this has been a learning curve its taught me lots of things. If I provided a final script for SK Jukebox can it be included with NaughtyPE?

Earlier in the thread people were talking about sorting the music after the rest of the files...to be honest i havent got a clue what they mean.

If I was to make a bootable DVD with a /music/ folder what should I do to go about burning this folder on the disc "properly"?

What do I need to do differently?

Problem is that some files needed in the booting chain may not be able to "reach" other parts of the chain if you put in between a whole big chunk of "something else".

The code in the bootsector and in the real mode part have NOT full access over the whole span of a DVD.

Usually it is enough to rename \music\ to \ZZmusic or \ZZ\music\.

Otherwise you may want to fiddle with mkisofs "priority list" PEsort.txt, ideally files should be copied inside the .iso in the same exact order they are loaded (which makes the build faster), see here:
