Hello!

For one week I am working on a VistaPE LiveCD, which is supposed to satisfy all my wishes. In the meanwhile I am mostly done. As one of the last things, I wanted to inbound was Acronis TrueImage Home 2009, 'cause in my opinion, it's one of the most complicatest things. After running the script, Acronis refused to start, after a little search with Google, I've figured out, that I need CDROMDrive Y:. As far as, no problem. Then I noticed that CDRomDrive Y: can be only downloaded in connection with Combobox v5. Well, I downloaded the script and applied it. The problems started. =(

Firstly the CD takes years to boot and secondly requests a password. Funnily enough you can turn anything off in the script interface, except this option. Anyway, I logged on with the standard password, but it only started with a command line, after starting the explorer.exe there were no programs (kinda logical, cause I am using BSExplorer). Well, I turned off the script, created a new image, booted it, anything looked normal to me. Then I thought: Why just don't delete the unnecessary stuff from the script and run it? (I only need the CDROM Drive Y: feature). No sooner said, than done.

Well, it worked. The CD started fast, didn't want a password, anything back to normal, like it was before using the Combobox script. Even Acronis started.
BUT then I took a closer look. Most of my included programs are lost. They don't longer appear in the start menu, I can't run them from the CD Program Folder. Then I built my image without the Combobox script, to check if they return. Unfortunately they didn't. :P

Please help me, to get my included programs back. The configuring, the search for software, etc, took me one week so far.

P.S.: Sorry for using a bugmenot Account, but when I tried to register myself, the registration always claimed: "The username or email specified is taken and is currently being used.". Which is, definitively, a lie.

This may be a lie:
"The email specified is taken and is currently being used."

This may not:
"The username specified is taken and is currently being used."

Please PM me the wanted user name and the email address you want to use and I'll check.

It must have been a quirk in the board software.

Created a new member with your preferred login name and your preferred e-mail address.

You should get the confirmation e-mail to that address.

Password is set temporarily to the user name (NOT full address) of the two alternative e-mail addresses you gave me. Do login and change it ASAP.

Please confirm everything works.

the xVPE CoMBo_Box replace these two files:

\Projects\VistaPE-Core\script.project
\Projects\VistaPE-Core\Base\00-api-main.script (in VistaPE v.12 RC1)

in the VistaPE v.11 project the api filename maybe different: \Projects\VistaPE\api.script

if you don't want to use the combobox then turn back to the original files,
download the original files via the WinBuilder's Download Center

Thanks dera, worked fine.
My project is back to normal, now I only have to find a way to convince Acronis to run. =)

Doesn't this one work?

just want to remark that
at me in ctmag's script '05-ti2009.script'
this line:

kernel /boot/acronisti2009/kernel.dat vga=788 ramdisk_size=28672 acpi=off quiet

never worked

i have to add also 'noapci':

kernel /boot/acronisti2009/kernel.dat vga=788 ramdisk_size=28672 acpi=off noapic quiet

I have already included the Acronis Rescure CD in Grub4Dos. I have used the boot parameters, which are used in *.cfg file from Acronis. Works fine. The problem with this solution is, that it is based on Linux, therefore it uses the Storage/HDD/USB/RAID drivers from the Linux kernel. Well, this wouldn't be a problem, if really all manufacturers would offer linux drivers. Unfortunately they don't. Therefore this solution won't recognise all hard drives, especially raid arrays.

As an alternative to the Linux solution I would like to include the Acronis TrueImage windows version. There I can inbound raid drivers, if they are needed. The problem is, that the script mentioned above needs CDROMDrive Y: which is only available in connection with Combobox, which in return, ruined my project. I've tried to exclude the CDRom Drive Y: function only, applied it, but Acronis refuses to start.
