It was a nice theory, but it didn't even last 12 hours.
I have trouble connecting again, despite boot-land being in the hosts file. So it's not a DNS issue.
Other ideas?

Just short time ago I have had a big delay when sending a PM.

And in the status line of my browser I saw a "Waiting for ??? (I don't remember exactly) at statcounter"

Today we've been mentioned on a newsletter called "Windows Secrets" that is sent to over 400k subscribers (according to site).

For the first time in history, winbuilder.net is nearly averaging the same number of daily pageviews as boot-land.net

I wasn't aware of this article and early this morning I've sent our own boot-land.net newsletter so the server is in serious stress because of the heavy amount of visitors.

Tomorrow things should calm down again and we'll be able to continue testing the DNS performance.

If there are so many requests right now and neighter the DNS nor the server has problems, maybe the line or the network traffic manager has problems.
Maybe we reached the max. capacity of our line or share of the line?

Things get increasingly worst.
Not only do i need to hit refresh 5-10 times now, i need to do it all day and at some times i'm even completely cut off. Yesterday for about two hours.
Today i got a new present, an IPS Drive error.

The IPS driver error may be due to overload, I had briefly one this morning.

The other problems seem unrelated to that, everything works fine from Italy. :frusty:

So far I still haven't felt any similar issues. On my end the forum page never stops loading, it seems to hang for a long while reading something (guess that it's statcounter or something related).

Yesterday was a very heavy usage day. The typical winbuilder bandwidth raised 400% and I'm not accounting for server usage while downloading projects and such. Strange to read these troubles today.

An IPS driver error is certainly much more serious than all the previously reported errors.

MedEvil, would you mind trying out to access boot-land.net using Ubuntu and Firefox for a day to check if the same issues are repeated?

Ubuntu/Firefox might be complacent and try to ignore/fix these issues automatically and would probably explain the lack of visible symptoms on the machine where I work.

I am not MedEvil,

What a relief! For a second you had me worried. :frusty:

@Nuno
I have tried IE, FF and Opera, all have the same problem.
Even WB is suffering from this.

Well.. I was replying to MedEvil's post that was made today: http://www.boot-land...?...ost&p=74546 as his situation seems to have aggravated.

And to fully test, it is necessary to do it without windows. I suggest Ubuntu to match up my work conditions as close as possible and running ubuntu from an emulated box is not a reliable test as the emulated network connection will still rely on the windows network stack.

Nuno i can offer only the same as Joshua. Running Ubuntu as a live system.

btw. 'Live System' does not mean emulator. I'm sure Joshua ran Ubuntu Live System on his machine without an emulator or he would have said so.

@ all german members
Would you please pm me the name of your internet provider and if you have trouble accessing boot-land or not.
Joshua and i have the same, psc a different one. But only 3 is not enough to see a pattern.

Yes, this would be just as good.

Are you still experiencing the any breakdown issues over these past two days?

Currenty troubles / bots (?) are again very active.

I'm developing proxy changes for WB and wrote a small test program:
WB_Download.gif
Winbuilder download times vary between the 'sourceforge' like (above) of one second via some seconds to such extreme times the picture shows.
