Hi

I am running Windows 7 RC on my desktop computer and trying to build VistaPE - this is something I do every few weeks so I know my setup of winbuilder etc is correct as it normally builds fine

This is the first time I have tried to build it under Windows 7 RC, I had Vista Ultimate before

I get this error

"Microsoft FileSystem Filter Manager (fltmgr.sys) not found, please install latest SP.

Exiting..."

Any tips on how I can get it to build? tried running as administrator, turning UAC off etc etc

Thanks

I have managed to get it past that stage and now it hangs on capture vistape.wim - sitting at 1% complete - jvgafix.fon

To get past the original problem I looked in the 01-preconfig script and saw it was checking for the fltmgr.sys file which it finds okay, then it looks in following registry key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\FltMgr

and checks to see if the DisplayName ="FltMgr"

Under windows 7 (upgraded from Vista) it doesn't, it instead appears as "@%SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\fltmgr.sys,-10000"

I amended the entry to "FltMgr" and now it gets past that point

Any help with sorting the hanging on capture vistape.wim would be much appreciated

Thanks

Hallo,

you are building in the XP mode for Windows7?

I have switched in the 0-preconfig from wimutil to imagex and the script is running fine.
Can you try and post?

Hi all,
I am also having the same problem.
I am trying to build Win7RescuePE within windows7 RC.
Winbuilder gets to PreConfig and hangs. No warnings or error messages (See Attachment), Can someone help?
In another matter can someone tell me how to add VMware vmscsi.inf to the build so I have vmware scsi drives loaded?

Jake.
