I have to retrieve some data from a laptop but the hard sata
is not recognized by winbuilder v.076
xp pro recognizes the chipset as: ich9m-e/m AHCI controller and the details are

PCI \ VEN_8086 & DEV_2929 & SUBSYS_30E8103C & REV_03 \ 3 & B1BFB68 & 0 & FA

can anyone helpme?

Winbuilder is a program to create a bootable CD / USB drive. I presume you mean you built one of the many projects available for winbuilder which when booted does not recognize the hard drive. That is quite common for SATA drives. Additional drivers need to be added to the project for SATA drives. You will need to be far more specific about which winbuilder project you used before anyone has a chance of helping you.
