USB Image Tool can create images of USB flash drives and MP3 players,
that are mounted as USB drives. It allows you switch between images
with different music styles on your MP3 player or to make an exact
backup image of your USB flash drive.

- create raw/compressed image files of USB drives
- restore images of USB drives
- show USB device information
- manage favorite USB images

Unfortunately, it's a .Net app, thus, unless you already need/have .Net installed it's a bloat. ^_^

There are smaller alternatives:

Just for the record, and FYI, the new MD5 feature is nice, dsfo/dsfi (command line) already provide for MD5 hashing, though it seems like there is evidence that this feature is probably completley unlike useful, due to drives with wear leveling:

jaclaz if u need , there is a portable .net framework which can install/load apps which needs it to be installed before they can execute .

let me know if u need it , it was shared at my other community a while back .

Well, it would be interesting, though of course we cannot redistribute MS non redistributable files, so a way to create it, rather than sharing a pre-built anything would be advisable.

How big is it in Mbytes?

5, 20, 30? :)

or are we talking about the dotGNU Portable.net ?:):
http://www.dotgnu.org/pnet.html

or are we talking about the portabledotnet on sourceforge:
http://portabledotne...ourceforge.net/
http://portabledotne...ge.net/download

which download is not working right now, but it's anyway 44 Mb. :)

though my personal stance about .net apps, is clear:
DO NOT USE ANY .net based app unless you really-really need it and there isn't another available solution, properly programmed in a bunch of bytes.

well some will consider it as wares or something , but a friend of mine at a community has made a srand alone .net framework which supports installing net softwares etc . and also he has made some portables integrated with .net framework as stand alone package which obviously includes wares :) ,,

and btw that stand alone .net is 88 MB and working on every single .net framework app i needed to use ...

and i support ur stance of avoiding these apps which needs .net /.
