Well it may be clear that i am not certain of the possibilities of ImDisk as for now, or my knowledge of windows temporary files system is to little...after searching the forums i've seen a lot of requests, clouding my understanding of what is or what is not possible with ImDisk, so, here are some questions..
Example: windows office/Random Webbrowser(could be any app)
- Is it possible to install an application onto a ImDisk created RAMdisk and have all write-requests such as cache be done into memory??
- Backup only this installation to an image file, so you always start with a new installed/set application ?
The purpose you might ask?
- Virus / Alteration proof / ?
- You can unload/load individual apps into memory on desire
- Prevent saving of cache to HDD
- Testing in memory instead of HDD
Maybe this all just sounds silly... just wondering
Thanks

As always or very often happens, the real problem is the "any" or "random".
There are lot of things that may "go wrong" with "any":
Things written to Registry, or to hardcoded places may prevent an app to work.
In other words, it doesn't sound silly at all, simply a bit too ambitious as a start.
What you are describing is a whole system loaded in RAM, which, from your other post:

you don't want.
On the other hand, there is a solution for "random" webbrowsers:
http://www.boot-land...?...ic=7357&hl=
which you may want to explore.
As well, you may want to explore the possibilities of MOA/LODR packs, in conjunction with a Ramdisk:
