Basics: How to Build VistaPE; Access Violation Pbm

Anyway, I get "access violation blah" when hitting the play button (I assume you use the play button to build the iso - no?). I read in another post that you have to install the Vista WAIK, but again, there are no tutorial instructions that I see telling you this.
Also there is something about "pointing to the WAIK".
Could someone please explain all the proper steps to do a build????
Thank you,
Phil

I see I actually don't need the WAIK, I was using my Vista source DVD that I copied to the hard drive as a source. ???The access violation could be because I copied the files on another hard drive partition???
I'm getting Access violation at address 0055A818 in module 'WB075b5.exe'.
read of address 0000000C.

Thanks. I seem to remember reading that using the WAIK instead of the Vista Source disk would only give you minimal functionality. Is this true?
I am going to try building on my win2003 server Pc instead of Vista and see if I get the same error.

i always use both.
waik for wim tool, driver injections, compacting to wim,...........
vista cd as source.
but i would advise u to create a Vista CD with the latest Patches as Source.
Build with vLite.
i had bluescreens only with Vista SP1 Source. after integrating latest Patches it worked + much more stabler.
So only my personal experience
I don't think this is vista problem, because i'am using Vista may problems with DEP,....
PS: U used winbuilder 75 B5 WB075b5.exe - please try out Winbuilder 76 ( http://winbuilder.ne...ad.php?view.37)

I have my copy of Vista Uilt DVD copied to a folder on C: and Source and Paths points to that folder
I also have windows WAIK 1.1 installed on my system - Under vistaPE Core - Base - Preconfig - is default location,
VistaPE can pull files from both
Most scripts files under
Base
Addons
App
ask for either Vista dvd or WAIK to use that script so the best way is to have BOTH when you build
I have seen a error like that before i just closed Winbuilder and opened it again, I click on things to fast

Please use the latest stable that is available here: http://winbuilder.ne...load.php?list.3
It is currently wb 076.
Using beta versions complicates figuring what can be going wrong.

Having to click the x to go on is not intuitively obvious from the gui.
Good luck!

The latest version of wb076 is blank. I don't know how to load the libraries for vistaPE into it, nor can I find instructions. How is this done? With the ini file????

Nuno, the problem is that I got WB075b5.exe from the VistaPE site download link, and running the executable has the window pre-populated with the complete vistaPE project script folder libraries.
