Paragon Hard Disk Manager 8.5 SE, the full commercial suite, is currently being offered for FREE at vnunet.com, and has been for the past several months. This version is compatible with Vista, unlike v 8.0, for which there is an existing script on boot-land.

Imaging, partitioning, cloning, defragging, backup, recovery, disk surface check, change cluster size, etc.

In the PE environment, this offering would provide a terrific, free alternative to Acronis TI, if one of you capable individuals could find time to develop a script.

Many of we daily users would be most pleased!

I might try to do a script tomorrow if I get time.

I should have a script for Paragon Hard Disk Manager 8.5 SE done by tomorrow. As yet, I've been unable to get image mounting to work and I might give just give up on that bit. Otherwise, the program is working well and hotbackup is functioning also.

Regards,
Galapo.

I am not sure, maybe I am wrong, so who knows exactly please correct me

at Paragon when a product become outdated
(after HDM v.8.5 came 2008 and currently they are at HDM 2009)
they start offer it for free with PC magazine etc.
during the installation of an SE version, when the software ask for the serial number, there is a link to theirs registration page where you can register and get the serial number,
it is the SE

I assume "Special Edition" refers to the fact that it is a specially licensed version. That is, it is licensed to the software magazine etc. to be made freely available but with all features of "full" version intact.

Or it refers to the fact that it is good software at a "special" price!

Regards,
Galapo.
