I was wondering if there is a way to 'install' an XP Live CD to the hard disk and have it as a boot option in case of an emergency. If it is possible, how would I add it to the boot.ini or preferably GRUB?

Thanks

There are several ways.
You have to consider LiveXP exactly like any other PE 1.x (or BartPE) build.
And consider a partition on your internal hard disk mostly like a partition on external (USB) disk.

With this in mind, start read these:

They should cover your question and most of those that may follow.

Once you have chosen:
between BOOT.INI and grub4dos (NOT GRUB)
between RAMDISK booting or "normal" booting
between \minint or \I386 directory structure

If something it's still not clear feel free to ask for help. :confused1:

BOOT_IMG.cmd Copies WinBuilder LiveXP BootSDI.img Image file to C-HDD or USB-Drive
and makes Entry for boot.ini Menu and GRUB4DOS menu.lst for Booting with PE from RAMDISK
loaded with BootSDI.img File on Harddisk.

LiveXP RAM BootSDI.img file is loading from USB-stick in 5 minutes and from Harddisk in few seconds.
Booting from RAMDISK in 30 seconds.
