Both Wireshark and Nmap/Zenmap can be used by simply installing them once and then copying their install-directories to a portable media like a USB-disk.
The only requirement both have in common is the WinPcap driver - either add this to your PE or just install it on the fly before using any of those apps.
Installation of the WinPcap driver requires a little free space in X:\i386 and a little free space in %programsdir%

Can you please describe how to install WinPcap in VistaPE?
Maybe you can have a look at this topic: http://www.boot-land...?showtopic=5478

Al - try wireshark portable package - if winpcap is not present it will install it on the fly. That doesn't need much space - and is done in seconds.

Unfortunately I can't install WinPcap inside VistaPE because I get an access violation error (only tested in VirtualBox). :-(
