I have vista home basic on my compaq amd x64 athlon.
I now wish to install xp 64bit on it.
i have dwnld a dvd having retail and corp editions of xp 64 bit
but on booting with it .. it gives the following error..

Error booting dvd
report the eight digit status code to xxxxx@bootscriptor.org

ne ideas...what is the problem here...

The Authors of this site frown upon warez distributions as it can cause all sorts of problems for them with M$. Please read the rules if this applies?

If you are however using a legit copy I would suggest you first zero the Hard drive re-fresh the Mbr then retry the installation?
