Probably the errors you had were not actually fixed.

Your best option should be that of starting again from scratch, using one of the "pre-packed" files and following this tutorial:
http://www.boot-land...?showtopic=4111

If you still have problems with the working of the project as per tutorial post here:
http://www.boot-land...?showtopic=5224

If I get it right you are running the project under Vista SP1, right?

And what source files are you using? :cheers:

XP SP2 or Server 2003?

It surely does not depend on 074 that you cannot change the source dir.
There must be a different reason depending on your local situation.

But 075 beta should work, too.

Strange is that the appearing errors, e.g. copy of kbdheb.dll, are well done in your previous log.

Is there something wrong with the source CD? Did you use a different one?

You should try the very simple and small predefined project on bottom of my signature.
If that doesn't work, too, there is something suspicious with your source
  • Maybe it is corrupted
  • Maybe there is an until now unknown bug in the nativeEx core (HEB is new for me) which does misunderstand the source

As the name says: Just a warning:
The refreshvars command is not longer necessary in 075 and ignored. No harm.

The warning is just a hint for the script author to remove the command.

Peter

BTW: The log is from LiveXP project, not from nativeEx_barebone :cheers:

The idea suggested by psc is maybe better explained as follows:
1) Forget (for the moment) about LiveXP
2) If possible, forget (for the moment) about the Hebrew Keyboard
3) Download the Native_ex in psc's signature
4) Extract it to another, NEW, folder, say C:\WBBeta
5) Run the project WITHOUT changing anything but the SOURCE path AND disabling the "Run Iso in qemu" in "Finish->3 Emulation"
6) Post the log of the above experiment

Native_ex and LiveXP "share" the same base engine, since native_ex is a simpler project, it is easier to find problems analyzing its log.

ONLY NATIVEX AND I CHANGE SOURCE PATH AND DISABLE QEMU

NO Errors and no Warnings in end
but Verify Project do this

Warnings:
Problem with line: Call "WBVersion" (Copy and Expand files,071.03);
Problem with line: Call "WBVersion" (ImDisk,071.03);
Problem with line: Call "WBVersion" (Explorer,071.03);

I did EXACTLY what jaclaz described.

And I did not get the Verify warnings.

BTW: If jaclaz writes 'post the log' he means it seriously. It is not an optional suggestion.

Yes, the idea of "post the log" is to actually post the log. :cheers:

OK, now try again NativeEx with the the HEBREW Keyboard, if you have no "new" errors, it should be OK, try the created .iso in a VM.

If everything works, try again with the "pre-packed" LiveXP, it's very strange that you have "different" warnings (or errors) on different runs.

Did you try in a VM the results of the build of post #9 ?

The keyboard issue in my opinion is a misunterstanding by jaclaz. Forget it.

Continue with
  • Copy the complete LiveXP's App directory including subfolders to the nativeEx_barebone_075 directory
  • Copy the complete LiveXP's App directory including subfolders to the nativeEx_barebone_075 directory
and rebuild.

Due to verify warnings: Maybe it depends on yout host Vista OS. Do you have the ability to check the same on a XP PC?

But currently you can ignore the warnings. They do not make anything wrong.

Do you have a way to send me the complete target directory (uncheck 'Build ISO'). It should be rather big, about 70 MB

Thanks, I got it.

First the good news:

I get the same errors like you in post #1.

The less good news:

Currently I can only try in finding the reason.

My first idea is:

Depending on your language, Imdisk fails. And everything else is a sub-failure (There is no RAM disk, no 'documents and settings, etc.)

I'm going to write a post in the ImDisk forum.

But can you here post an translation of the ImDisk error message?

@psc
Houston, we have a problem. :cheers:

.inf files on Rudebox's build are UNICODE instead of "plain" :cheers:

Just do a Hex view of files in \nativeEx\i386\Inf\

@rudebox
Well, so, if I get it right you have a working LiveXP built from XP SP2, ON a running XP SP2.

This should mean that LiveXP cannot be built from XP SP2 ON a running Vista SP1 (or at least not the Hebrew versions).

But that does not explain why on the same running XP SP2 NativeEx fails.

An idea from a rookie:

i found sth thay may help (maybe),
try to uncheck "stop build on Error" in winbuilder 075 beta->advanced->Options.

In my trials (i use only livexp) checking "stop build on Error" stops build with giving some halt error (errors may change in different trials),
but with unchecking it, no error or warning messages and build ends with perfect success.

i havent report it 'cause i havent documented it with a reproducable way yet (and disabled this option for a while and forgot it).
