Making Disk images 127M ,256M and more
=============================================================================

Hi

There are several times that you need to have a bootable Empty disk image, for example
127M,256M or more.

Making them is very easy ,you just need to have WinImage pro (Not standard version),and
do as below:

I used WinImage pro version 8.0.8000 for this tutorial.

1. Run winimage,go to "file" (in menu) and select "New".Format selection window will be
appeared check "select custom image format" (see picture in attachment),and click OK.

2.Another window will be appeared. This window displays the parameters for a 128 MB disk
partitions , and if you want to change the size of disk , Just change the value of
“Total number of sectors” section in this window.

here you should know that In Computer,1k bytes means 1024 bytes (Not 1000 bytes),and each
512 bytes occupies one sector of disk.and each 1024 bytes will occupy 2 sectors.so we can
say 1K uses 2 sectors and 1M will use 2x1000=2000 sectors.

In this example we need to make 256M image,so it will need 256 x 2000 =512000 sectors.
we wrote 512000 in "Total number of sectors:" section of the window and click on ok.
and select a name for your image and save it some where.it will make 256M empty image
for you.

3.Now your Empty 256M image in this example is ready, Ofcourse at this time it is empty
and if you look to it's properties ,you will see that it has a size of about 300k,but
you can put your needed files on it,by your favorite way and use it.for example you can
install filedisk, and load this image by that as a virtual drive.then copy (fore example
your BartPE files) to this virtual drive, then you should unload virtual drive by filedisk.
If you do so,at this time you will see that your image is 256M (in this example) now.

in this tutorial,I just wanted to intruduce an easy way to make disk image, and i am not
going to talk about making bootable images and else.

"jaclaz" has very intresting topics about using filedisk and loading/unloading images and
more in "The CD Forum, Bart's PE Builder sections",looking that pages will help alot.
thanks to jaclaz and others that realy working nice.
have fun
