There is a possibility to install xp on a flash drive or compact flash (which runs like the xp original, allowing modifications, installations and come clean [like I was in a xp hd conventional way?])?

USB-Stick is in general rather slow and Portable USB-harddisk is more suitable for your purpose.

A simple procedure is to  Install XP in VHD file by using XP Setup ISO file and WinVBlock driver and booting from Grub4dos Menu.

can I make w7 pro VLK booting from VHD or must it be ultimate or enterprise editions?

also what virtual machine software can boot .VHD? I am only familiar with VMware which uses .vdmk and Qemu which uses .raw and I want to boot the .vhd created with your tool in a VM also.

This thread is about Install XP from USB and it is better to discuss your question about Win7 VHD

in the more appropriate thread
