I am having trouble creating a boot CD with 10 MB of additional data on it. I am using win 98 for the OS but can use something else if necessary. When I do the process in Nero, or a few other application, it does not work correctly. When I boot with the CD I can see command.com but no other files. I have tried every option it lists for emulation and none work.

I have looked everywhere for a tutorial of how to do this but I cant seem to find any help.

Can someone please point me to a guide or please explain the process.

Thanks

Well, I think most people may need more info about your problem like what process u doing to make the CD I asume u are using the "normal" way of making a Floppy image( like the one nero uses) i think nero doesnt load the ATAPICD driver so that may be your problem Look in the net for Win 98 startup floppy and use it instead of the nero's one and it will load the cddrive so u can see the rest of the files.

Good luck.

Very good information, thanks for pointing to it Jaclaz. 1 thing that might be compounding my problem is that newer Intel Servers and some new Intel desktop boards no longer support booting from a DOS based CD. They do not appear to be able to use a CD driver such as mscdex. They want to use an embedded EFI operating environment.

Hmmm, ;)

Why don't you try a pre-made DOS based .iso and see if it works on those machines?

This one should be a suitable one to test:
