Hi

Having used winbuilder to make a vista boot image i end up with a target of

boot (dir)
sources (dir)
bootmgr
vistape.cd
vitape.cfg

from the recommended download.

>> How is this packaged to make a boot cd or USB key ?

I wrote these files to a CD but when i rebooted, the PC ignored it.
CD booting works because a boot XP cd works.

Nice if the help had a reference to the next steps.

Thanks!

The Winbuilder project should have a "Create.iso" (or something similar) .script selected:

You burn to CD the created .iso file.

In case of problems, always attach to your post the log file, possibly compressed in a .zip or .7z archive:

thanks for the tips but i am not across the line.

I must be thick or missing something because the iso when burnt
booted with a "turning on gate a20" then proceeded to boot Xp which runs abour 100 times slower.

(have xp on C:, an orphaned vista on E: drive until i can fix the boot loader)

Standard XP install disk has no trouble loading.

Need a more comprehensive guide to this ?

Prefer to get USB key working as this path is easier to iterate to get the right image right.
USN iso placed on key does not boot so something extra is needed.
Tried petousb but it does not recognise the vista image

Thanks all
