Does anyone know of a free app (windows based) that can format a partition to FAT32 bigger than 32GB since DISKPART will not..

This one should:
http://www.compuapps.../swissknife.htm

There is both a "normal" version and a "portable" (read PE) version.

Has anybody make it work under livexp? The PE version may be unlocked under Bartpe but it is not under livexp.

Cannot say, but it does seem strange to me. :)

Even I was capable of making the PE version work in this VERY limited environment (without plugins):

I got bartpe plugin from the official swissknife webpage, extracting files and injecting into Livexp. The author claims that this version is unlocked but it was not at all. It was not able to format drive c which was shown as "floppy drive" instead of fixed drive. Sorry but I didn't found our swissknife plugin (as usual..) :)

No need to be sorry, actually finding a .script can be in some cases harder than actually writing it. :)

Here is a VERY OLD one:
http://nunobrito.100...scriptpack.html

Don't even think of using that one!
http://www.boot-land...topic=459&st=22

It was there:
http://web.archive.o...nd.net/scripts/

But it was removed from "/scripts" and moved to "/Projects":
http://edborg.boot-l...Apps/OtherApps/
http://edborg.boot-l...issKnife.script

Cannot say if there is any better/newer .script for Swissknife....

On a general note regarding finding scripts.
Forget about looking at the download center, that worked a year ago.
Today, if you look for a script or a new version, check the servers.
Just onother one of the things that go wrong here, imo.

:cheers

On a general note on helping mates, why don't you provide some useful links BEFORE and only LATER comment phylosophically the establishment and what's wrong in it? :)

Just to make an example, possibly useful for other members, the following are the same posts, built in a "constructive" way:

Try this one:

http://edborg.boot-l...issKnife.script

However it is here:
http://www.boot-land...p?ind=downloads
and there is a SwissKnife .script in it too:

Besides the list of servers in Winbuilder, you can try what has been suggested here:

A general phylosophical difference between us. I give answers and you reply with links instead.

Sure :). Point is not the answers you give (or that you think you are giving), it is the actual questions....:)

Just in case, the answer to the Ultimate Question about Life, the Universe, and Everything is 42.

hey medevil, I tested the script from the links that jaclaz posted and, yes, they don't work. Right-click on the drive is disabled. The "format button" on the interface is enabled but only to format to fat16 file system (no ntfs function). Fixed drives are shown as floppies (despite the size of 250gb). In other words swissknife is got useless.

Tested on my laptop (real boot with livexp) and in virtual machines. I used the official bartpe plugin & the wb script & files after installation but nothing worked.

Paradoxically, the latest swissknife version works flawlessly in vista installations but not in xp installations or in livexp. I haven't tested in bart enviroments but it is noticed that works in compuapps webpage.

Checked too, besides the Gui being completely butchered up for some reason, everything works fine.
HDD are recognized as such and formating in fat16 and ntfs are available.
I just fail to see the advantage of Swissknife. I can do all the above with XPs own HDD configuration tool too. :)
I thought people wanted Swiisknife because it can resize partitions and cluster sizes, without loosing data, like PM.
