Hy, Im having some kind of problem booting up my Vista PC.I cant start it too load, because when it loads it gives an error(0xc0000001) and says "NETIO.SYS is missing or corrupt and Windows can not load".
Please anyone can give me the steps to get my machine back working.
Also,i cant load any of the "Safe Modes" or "Last known good Configuration"...

I have A flash drive(USB),that contains this file from my laptop, can i just put this file into the PC?If so how?
I dont have a CD Drive..
I have the Vista installation files both in .exe and .iso format.

Welcome to our forums. You're the first Irish member on this community, congratulations!

Regarding this matter, before engaging on a repair I would be worried about the reasons why this file is missing.

Malware is often responsible for removing these files to keep windows from booting, so I would recommend using your Vista Install DVD with the repair option to fix all missing files and once you get access to the machine run your favourite spyware removal tools.

Spybot Search and Destroy along with Asquared free edition are good cleaning tools.

Good luck! :tabletalk:

I think Internet Download Manager(IDM) messed with the file.I checked the option "Advanced Browser Integration" and then it said to restart the machine. On restarting i unchecked it,and again restarted. But after this the PC does not boot up.I dont have a CD Drive. :D

I encountered the same problem at work on a laptop, tried installing the file again, didn't work :tabletalk:, tried repairing with Vista CD, didn't work :D, also tried system restore & last known good config. to no avial.
If anyone has a solution, would be good to hear it. We ended up having to image the laptop again.
This problem occurred during updates.
Thanks in advance :D

OFF TOPIC: Why so many people like the adventure (even in systems used for business) of Vista and do not use an OS like XP where the failures are already well known and bring no new surprises?
