Hi all, :( ,

Can someone "educate me", as to what use this is for?

BootDisk2BootStick is a very small utility to make an image of your startup disk or clone it to a flash drive.

See Here:

http://www.portablef...opic.php?p=1307

& here:

http://www.boodaa.de..._...2&Itemid=31

Seems like a bit of an oddity to me, but someone has taken the time & trouble to write this program but I am curious as to the reason Why, is it if the user has not got a floppy drive?

Any thoughts as to a practical application?

Regards,

ispy :)

Why, is it if the user has not got a floppy drive?

Yes !!! :)
Or for use on a other system without floppy drive.
Or to use dos utilities.
Or to test usb-booting.
Or ....

No practical application, as I see it, it is much easier to use a floppy image and boot to it by grub4dos or grub4dos+memdisk if you need to boot from a boot floppy.

And .Net 2 requirement? :)

It seems to use anyway Ken Kato's VFDWIN as a virtual floppy drive.

And, from my very little German, it seems like the app is just a (bloated by the .Net 2.0 requrement) dd-like utility to transfer a disk image to the stick.

You can use Roadkil's Diskimage to the same effect (GUI).

Or you can use some info from any of my batches and replicate the behaviour using dsfo/dsfi.
