Hi,

I'm using the latest version of BCDW and it working very well for XP PE environments but now I wanted to add a Linux distribution.

My experience is linux is fairly rudimentary but even with the help of the documentation provided by BCDW I'm still getting stuck when the image is loaded.

The distro I'm using is GPARTED and everytime BCDW tries to boot the ISO it will simply default to the GRUB console window.

I also tried unpacking the ISO and pointing BCDW to directly load the linux kernel as mentioned on the examples but I'm a bit in doubt that I even understood correctly which files should be used for this matter. (what a confusion :) )

Any tips for a solution?

Not a direct answer (seems like you might have a working answer anyway)

I find Parted Magic much easier to deal with. It also claims to have some improvements over standard GParted.

1. Download Parted Magic Live CD image
2. Extract the ISOLINUX folder to your CD build directory (Use 7-Zip)
3. Add this line to BCDW.INI

\ISOLINUX\ISOLINUX.BIN ; Parted Magic ; ^ Partition Management

I've tried it some time ago but for some strange reason I was unable to get it working..

Maybe I missed something, have you used it with success? :tabletalk:

The solution to run Parted Magic was half complete.

I've added this line to my BCDW.ini
\pmagic\ISOLINUX.BIN; Parted Magic 2.0

You need to create your multiboot ISO with the label "Parted Magic" or it will fail to find the needed modules and won't boot on version 2.0

I wonder if this can be modified by the author to support other ISO labels?
