Just found this site:
http://www.donationcoder.com/

That has a number of interesting small apps.

Among them I would point out:
http://www.donationc.../Other/fSekrit/

fSekrit is a small application for keeping encrypted notes.

The real advantage of fSekrit is that notes are truly self-contained; the editor program and your note are merged together into a tiny self-contained program file, removing the need to install a special application to view your data.

This makes fSekrit ideal for keeping encrypted notes on, for example, USB flash drives.

Process Tamer is a tiny (140k) and super efficient utility for Microsoft Windows XP/2K/NT that runs in your system tray and constantly monitors the cpu usage of other processes. When it sees a process that is overloading your cpu, it reduces the priority of that process temporarily, until its cpu usage returns to a reasonable level.

System Path Commander is a power-user tool that allows you to easily and safely enable and disable directories in your windows system path environment variable (the paths searched when launching programs).

Such a tool is useful in a variety of situations. For example, the System Path sometimes grows too large and can cause problems if it isn't shortened. Being able to temporarily disable and enable directories on your system path can be a great way to do this safely, while still keeping all the paths available to you should you decide to re-enable them at a later time.

Though I don't particularly like the "time limited renewable" type of license:

The proggies may come handy.

Finally there is a number of "code snacks":

Each of these small programs was coded in response to a user request on the Coding Snacks Section of our forum. These are all freeware programs, but unlike our other programs, they typically do not come with an installer or help file. All rights for these programs are retained by their original authors.

Very good suggestion, will check it in more detail..

Also tried out fSekrit 1.2 but didn't worked as expected.. It seems to fail writing back the notes to the .exe file.

Reading the info files I found this:

Windows will not let an application write to a .exe file that is currently
running, so fSekrit has to jump through some hoops in order to do this.
In previous versions the save process was a bit icky, but with version 1.3
things are a bit cleaner.
When you open a fSekrit executable that has encrypted
data, it will copy the editor part (NOT the data part!) of itself to a
temporary file. This temporary file is launched, and used to edit the original
file. This way, your notes can be edited directly.

Looked into the author's site, but the link on donationCoder seems to be the official one.

I really like this idea to keep my notes safe.. :P

It works for me.

Run the .exe
INPUT some text in it
Save it with ANOTHER name
Give to it the password
Re-open it
Give to it the password to access contents
Change the text and save.

It appears that if you input no text, the .exe is considered a "template" and cannot be overwritten :P
