@My friend Lancelot:

Until now I thought that the Turkish people have the 'Latin' time feeling (like Nuno has). ^_^

I'm currently in doubt whether you feel a bit 'German' :good:

Well, Peter, sorry :good:, but you still don't understand fully the subtleties of "Mediterranean" (new term for Latin to include all the area, as per billonious request):
http://www.boot-land...?...c=6848&st=8
time measurement.....^_^

The whole point is that Latin Mediterranean time applies ONLY when one (meaning oneself) has to do (or promises to do) something, NOT when someone else has to do it (or promised to do it), for the latter case "normal" "International" or even "special" ^_^ "German" or "Swiss" timing is used. ^_^

Nuno!

You are out of reality! ^_^

ALL time I spend with Lance, did improve Winbuilder!
Nearly all 'BUGYS' and suggestions caused me to code real WB enhancements!

And if he does not complain, who does? ^_^

No doubt about it.

I meant that Lancelot seems to be adopting a time measuring unit more closely related to regions far from mediterranean influence such as we currently attribute to german, british or swiss folks. This could be a collateral effect of your exchanged conversations over these last months and it's sort of fun to see.. ^_^

--

Jaclaz, your analysis of time measurement are getting extremely interesting, I'm surprised this hasn't been documented elsewhere on the internet. Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to start a new topic to concentrate all tidy bits about this matter.

Hello Nuno!

Many thanks for the offer to use the subdomain
to publish scripts.
e.g.
00-z-waik-pxe.script
DriveImageXML20.script (with approval of the manufacturer)
...

I think that it is better to use www.boot-land.net
or www.winbuilder.net.

So I would like to have a new subdomain-name:
netfantom.winbuilder.net

Thanks and greets
NetFanTom

shadowproject.winbuilder.net

Will be added if you gather a significant number of scripts or develop a work portfolio interesting enough to be used as reference for other developers in the community.

Otherwise, it's probably better to talk with another developer that already has a winbuilder account and ask him to host your files.

http://lancelot.winbuilder.net (from Lancelot of LiveXP) is a good place for your scripts as he is also collecting scripts from other developers (fxscrpt, kare, davexp, olegpov, saydin77, etc)

also winbuilder has an option of what packages you would like to download ex. Full , beta etc. how do i set this up with my account?

This is done by winbuilder.exe - look on the tutorials section of this site for some instructions and create a new topic for a tutorial request if you don't find enough information to explain how this gets done.

Hi folks,

I'm stumbling around the form to find out how a winbuilder.net subdomain can be requested. I'm right here?

I've just finished (hopefully) a winbuilder project in a first stable release. The project focus on german language (called Alberich) for Windows XP.

Is it possible to create a subdomain like alberich.winbuilder.net for this project?

Thanks,
Juergen

Hi, Juergen :D, yes, you found the right place.

YES. :D
http://homepages.tes...no-answers.html

Let's see how it goes, first.
See the post by Nuno just above yours.

Why don't you start a new thread here:
http://www.boot-land...hp?showforum=50

Or maybe ;) if it is a "strictly German" project it would be more fit here:
http://www.boot-land...hp?showforum=40

Hi Jaclaz,

thanks for your help.

I think the projects has a significant number of scripts (projects size at 160 MB in total). The procest has all components a recovery system should have - in my opinion for sure.

Yes, I'll open a thread in the german boot land section. Some testers are more than welcome. Because the projects language is german, it may be too difficult for other speakers than german.

Can you setup that subdomain?

Thanks,
Juergen

NO. :D

Don't take it the wrong way :D, but basically you are coming here, and on your first or second post you are saying:
  • I want a winbuilder.net subdomain
  • I made, without ever taking part to the board, a complex project, sized around 160 Mb
  • The project is localized in German and thus possibly only useful to a bunch of members

As said, start a new thread, upload your project on a free hosting service, at least temporarily, and post a link to it.

Let's see what the (several) German speaking members have to say about your work.

Basically, by giving you a winbuilder.net sub-domain we implicitly give your work a kind of imprimatur:
http://en.wikipedia....wiki/Imprimatur
which usually is given to projects that have been tested and commented by the board users or to members that ALREADY contributed on the board and which we got to know a bit.

;)

Hi Jaclaz,

thanks again for all your help.

The idea to request a subdomain came from a newsletter from Boot Land site. Maybe I misunderstood that letter.

Anyway, the project is published on my own site, already. So if anybody is interested to have a look, it should be possible.

Yes I've opened a new thread and posted to projects:
http://www.boot-land...?showtopic=7999

If that will be not the best place, please move that article to the german language/community.

Thanks a lot,
Juergen

I thought that in the post you mention, it has been clear that my 'bad boy' is a script or the script's author.

But if you interprete it in this way, it is your decision policy :D

Hi Jaclaz, Peter,

thanks a lot for your discussion. Technically, I don't need no a other place to host
my project. The idea in behind was, to give something back to the community that gave
all the tools, knowlegde and ideas. So, no bad bad guy's hanging around.

Special thanks to Bart, Nuno, Jaclaz, Peter, Thuun and all the other people that have asked and aswered all the questions I've had (by reading the articles already on the forum). Thanks to all.

Great site, excellent tools. I've found my freedom with the OS Windows - using WinBuilder to create my poison cabinet against the (real) bad guys.

Yep, ;) I know what you meant by "your" 'bad boy'.

I was referring to this:

Maybe Jaclaz things about his 'own.domain' decision. :D

That makes me look like the "bad guy" (I cannot alas, not even by your standards ;), be called a boy anymore) that denies Alberich some space on the server. ;)

You have been only hiding in the dark recesses of a cave before finally coming out :D:

I will try contacting Nuno to setup the space.

Would alberich.winbuilder.net be ok?
