This little tool, written by Dan Madden, was released on CodeProject:
http://www.codeproje...NtRegistry.aspx
http://www.codeproje.../NtRegEdit.aspx

Due to the new idea by Dietmar:
http://www.boot-land...?showtopic=3717

It would be PERFECT for both XPCLIBR and XPCLINL:
http://www.boot-land...?...=3717&st=31

I contacted the Author who is very interested to the new project:

Dear Dan,
I have seen your nice piece of code a few months ago but actually did not find any practical use for it.
Now it has served (and still is) serving me well inside this project:
http://www.boot-land...?showtopic=3717

Problem is, while Native Registry Editor is VERY handy to edit and integrate "local" Registry, the missing of a "Load/Unload" Hive function renders it useless dor the intended use of the project as a Recovery solution (much better than Recovery Console).

Is it not by any chance that you are interested in adding the missing feature?

Another thing, would you consider allowing the redistribution of your project, both as Source and Compiled through Boot-Land?

Thank you in advance for your interest in the above.

Regards,
jaclaz

Hi jaclaz,

I don't have a problem with it and the reason those haven't been included yet is because I couldn't get the Native APIs to work properly (NtLoadKey, NtLoadKey2, NtSaveKey, NtReloadKey, etc...). I was trying to keep the class "pure Native calls". Now with that said, there is nothing keeping me from adding it to the NtRegEdit application?? Let me check it out. I will be back.

Would like to see the "End" product so I can put it on my stick

Regards,

Dan

So here it is, the attachments contain last demo code and source.

i would like to use this app to add a command to the bootexecute key to import some registry settings before windows loads.

are there command line switches available for executing this silently? will this run in a native environment?

i am trying to automate a switch to turn off tabletpc. i need to modify the value under HKLM\SYSTEM\WPA\TabletPC without being able to boot in WinPE. The value currently exists as Ox1 and i am trying to change it to 0x0.

thanks

No, as is it is NOT command line driven.

I don't think that there is such an application , depending on your knowledge of programming, you may be able to write a simple one, capable of changing just that key.

There is a very good article (in Italian) here:
http://pasotech.alte...articolo111.htm
But it is not that bad through Google translate anyway:
