Are there any tutorials on converting drivers to scripts? I need to get the SAS 5iR ATA Raid Controller driver from Dell loaded into the environment and it is not listed in any of the Mass Storage scripts I have looked at.

Thanks

PS. I did search before I ask

Personally, I'm working on a driver script that will hopefully make all future driver integration extremely simple. For now, when needing specific drivers, I would recommend the "CreateDriverScript". You can download it directly from WinBuilder.

1) Open WinBuilder and select the "Download" tab at the top.

2) Select "thuun.boot-land.net/WinBldr/XP-2K3/Projects" server. If it doesn't exist, click the "add new web server" button and add it to the list. (You can just copy&paste the URL from above. Just don't copy the quotation marks. :cheers:)

3) Now, make sure that the new server is selected and view the contents on the left. Expand "NativePE" and then expand the "Tools" tree (located under the NativePE tree). You should see "CreateDriverScript.script (62.69 Kb)" listed. Select that script then hit the "Download" button.

Now you have the script for adding your own specific drivers. You may have to move it to the projects folder that you're using for your build (E.g. - If you're using Native_EX for your build, you will need to move the downloaded script from the "NativePE/Tools" directory into the "Native_EX/Tools" directory. Actually, you can move it to anywhere you want in the project folder. Just remember that the order of some scripts are important, however.)

Here is the list from the txtsetup.oem. I am not at the machine right now so I am not sure which is being selected.

[HardwareIds.scsi.DELL_SAS]
id = "PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0054&SUBSYS_1F041028", "symmpi"
id = "PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0054&SUBSYS_1F061028", "symmpi"
id = "PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0054&SUBSYS_1F071028", "symmpi"
id = "PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0054&SUBSYS_1F081028", "symmpi"
id = "PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0054&SUBSYS_1F091028", "symmpi"
id = "PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0058&SUBSYS_1F0E1028", "symmpi"
id = "PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0058&SUBSYS_1F0F1028", "symmpi"
id = "PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0058&SUBSYS_1F101028", "symmpi"
id = "PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0058&SUBSYS_021D1028", "symmpi"

I attached the full driver directory just in case you want it...

Thanks for that.

I just checked my mass storage drivers script and these ids are listed for xp:

"PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0054", """symmpi"""
"PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0058", """symmpi"""

Under 2003 these ids are listed:

"PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0054&SUBSYS_1F091028", """lsi_sas"""
"PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0054&SUBSYS_1F081028", """lsi_sas"""
"PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0054&SUBSYS_1F071028", """lsi_sas"""
"PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0054&SUBSYS_1F061028", """lsi_sas"""
"PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0054&SUBSYS_1F041028", """lsi_sas"""
"PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0054", """lsi_sas2"""
"PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0050", """lsi_sas2"""

Here it is here: http://galapo.boot-l...sStorage.script

Just uploading it for you now, so if you attempt to grab it in the next few minutes it won't be there, but will be soon...

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Galapo.

Is the drive recognised now? It would be helpful if you could report.

Thanks,
Galapo.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this. The bandwidth problems getting to the site a few weeks ago nailed me...

I was under a time crunch on that machine. It had a trojan that was always locked and I could not kill the process. I had to pull the drive to delete the file. So I have not tested you upload.

I should be onsite tomorrow and will attempt you driver pack to see what happens.

Thanks for getting back to me.

I've updated the script with version 7.11 of the mass storage drivers. Give this a try:
