The old paragon script asked for the installed Paragon directory. The new assumes "Program Files". Not all users use the automatic default directory. Please include a prompt for the install directory in an updated script.

Which Paragon script for which program are you referring to.

My one for HDM8 SE does not have the problem you mention.

Regards,
Galapo.

The Paragon script for Paragon Tools 8.5 downloaded within Winbuilder 072 with VISTAPE 10 (file name = paragon.script) created by Nightman. The old script was dated 20/06/2007. I do not have the new date since I deleted the file.

I never used the HDM8.script from the livexp.boot-land.net server
nowadays downloaded it and looking into the HDM8.script Version=011
it seems to me a little confusing script
May I ask the author to clean up this script?

Deary me, if you have such a problem with it, you are entitled to fix it yourself. Since I neither find the script to be essentially "confusing" or "unclean", my answer is no until you can demonstrate what is wrong with it.

Galapo.

what is confusing me is
it has [Interface] sections 3 times
it has ExitMessage1] sections 3 times
it has ExitMessage2] sections 3 times
it has [Process-InstallFile] sections 3 tines
it has different [UniExtract] sections 3 tines
one of the [UniExtract] section ( which is not add reg entries) ending with this lines ( before the followingt [Interface] section begin):

Title=Paragon Hard Disk Manager
Selected=False
Locked=True
Description=Adds Paragon Hard Disk Manager 8.0 Special Edition to the build
Author=Galapo; adapted from Mustang's BartPE plugin
Level=5
Updates=
Version=011
Date=2007-Dec-11
Download_Level=1

an other [UniExtract] section has this line

[codebox] FileCopy,"%Target_Prog%\%programFolder%\extraction\HDM8\ve_cdroms.dll","%Target_sbL18+f/li++X25vb6yoZ2QTs/uzQ7vfRkfGF67Nnj4dmpoSfj/dPD3ZP97cNqWbdS0CpiNLGJfGphfWVuQxVGxMBLOWQBDb6/80IdYrzvxQfYoRP8yAVJCh6lv00EqWYfj2jnZ9aW57Y3VjfWluefTk70t2sU3PZGRqugGp68XbK63lbR aLdyakjzZGJw7vHY/PTY7NTI9Gj35GDXeH/7eG/raLdqWK0YVctHdjDcJRtoE3VJWVI2kUPOqylBAhDw4LrN7VPGV45YGRxN9DYuzwyg5kdScoJY2KS5x6P aBWiLul3C7GttXNUu/Of33zfXVhafPp4e6RnukqultUoOqYlRLKrGiGkFMja2RUAb72t9PKyGlo+94u9qHupoGmgT96pEPQp+j 6KhR8HtUfD6WoQdohoARJV5HY3ULnF1t4ypkULbqG3C6jYRrbdNvDg3ubayNDnQAfcNh5Qx3tf223/+s7GmXV9ZWF6YXZydevZ45PFI70hPS2+LoE1U01RbVkdA1ZPSxwc6xvvaoRNHNMrBTtlgu6SvRdSjFHQ reN3NDWpZXWdTbYekVtlQCUADIV3FrWhvrOmU1vWoBENdcqj3+EDnxKAaYnq059mTqaX52ZWlhZXlxWd PJp9OjUyN9EKGkW7lQIcEDlHL69vFjDYhXcmjNLFwgmrMWF/raE8L9Pxgp7y/vam/VUeubuZ1yRq6pHUdEpauv5gOzwgAuMQM+LeVT2mDKkhq4TGmaW5ol9arGtktYk67jN+llHS1yno6FD0d zfBI72mTaVRiGPmdcj7cAm1idmsjUymoUfCqZRxyc0NVX4d0QK3qa5f2tEi6VY1qeOHKGjqa6nU9RbUt QrpKQINRBveIlAXvPykT26cS9Lc1DnbJRnqU473tI73tHSqJVMSTiHhKeVNXK9zJmsmJscePpyanJsfH x0dHRoYGhwb6+nu7e3o16l51Z29Xe3dni7pd0dUmb1eI2qS8FglX1VivELKa+UyYjsg41KZ6iphNlrDh viSJmDh4WQmqi+H6Uws7m9gaeX2PktvTItQohYrGunp6JZlQUlVehi8pPm4TZ+iXGR6fm47G4wlUOo0u 4NTLRHyVVNgmF7bJhC0yvlLClQnrJbxaIYfBr6vhsigNDHIDvZJDK6+jEuqoOHZVWS25pLayqLaikFmO qS3PZ1UWsIjw/hOQ0TB0dAHRxFYKGEIWmVFZRijKKczLoJEKbULTQCgbuFcARyKwLAKmOftM0t83Tf7uXvJp6yRD1xR7f 1RQVHpCSnYuOg9XXEglFjMrS1lVEEXsyoLa8oIaQn41Lo9clkMqySAUpRMw6XhMKhGDKi9KrypEwfdHR ZaKR4ahI2KRoHK4gvTC7OSS/PQiTKa3g8NBJPXbmsHT4scHlPOfC2beYU3uqxoGJRqQ3QbixSCkAXjQgAMR3C9EmOb8zSj5oxtB35mEn 7CKvOEca+mX6BkUHxyZkBgXl5USj0mLKUmPxGfFELKjSbkxFZikyvwEGH/4dHh1SVh4GiGnKDsJkxmfmxTu52Bz6sSZ93+5foje7SMb6dj6lbv8nLG0TZjfRj/dip3a8B1bsxpYudm9fKptYb98Dqr2JmP8jepx4EcF7x0B7xwA35qAg5bgFxtw3H7vBb9/XHD/UD/wW5OIIyaPrt5/ZGbn7+LhFxnoD/dfWaqUWdZYU9pQkUvIinrk4XrZ2m2/d+JN/sDhMhUiintbMBrzdAs5tVE0u0lZ2K5feiHWvlSsvmhZfala/VW68lKgfc5Y3MbNbebOb3mr518/Zb3r9S/2vHNgz8cH9nx1cdc/D+7+1wnw0XHwg+GuR0yAVIBwAfCvBa7UvfZFALCKExppmEZacV426oZP1OfhBV9n136aSHrD1AecD9pl 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

Thanks for pointing this out.

It looks to me like a corrupted upload as my local copy does not have these duplicate sections, but when I download off the server I get the same as you. I'll reupload shortly with an increased version number just in case others have this happening too.

Hopefully then it might make more sense!

Regards,
Galapo.

OK, I've uploaded the script again.

I redownloaded the script Version=012
when try to open it to edit in WinBuilder and go to the Attachments Tab I get an error message:
List index out of bounds (0)
my first thoughts was probably the attachment is corrupted and I will try to reattach the file uniextract.7z
but when I try to delete the attachment and also the containing folder
the whole [UniExtract] process section disappear
finally solved my problem renaming the attachments folder
and now I do not get the error message 'List index out of bounds (0)'
so I assume maybe the problem caused by the same name of the attachments folder and
the process section [UniExtract]

other:
at the end of the [Process-RegistryEtc] section
the Shared DLLS registry entry points to HotCore.sys instead of HotCore2.sys

don't know why but the script (the original one and not the modified one where i renamed the attachment folder) writes this lines into txtsetup.sif

[SourceDisksFiles]
hotcore2.sys=1

[SCSI.Load]
hotcore2=hotcore2.sys

instead of the expected hotcore2.sys=1,,,,,,_3,4,1 and hotcore2=hotcore2.sys,4
Nevertheless testing the builded iso Hard Disk Manager 8.0 SE seems to work fine

Thanks for your help and patience!

downloded the new version=014
and noticed
the following two Building options:
Download software for building
and
Extract from install file
not working correctly
the '\Target\LiveXP\Program Files\HDM' folder contains only one file, the file "hdm8_se-20070203-0000-en.exe"
and the iso does not boot

there is no [UniExtract] process section in the script version=014

Woops, the WB encoding function inadvertently deleted the section when I went to correct the 'List index out of bounds (0)' issue.

Please try again, hopefully all is fine now.

Galapo.

Galapo:
there is an upload error (hdm8.script 2008-July-18) i guess,
check line 597 of the downloaded script.

also a minor thing as mentioned before:
changing this line
If,NotExistFile,"%Target_Prog%\%programFolder%\hdm8_se-20070203-0000-en.exe",Exit,"hdm8_se-20070203-0000-en.exe was not downloaded, so program cannot be added to PE build. Exiting script..."
with this
If,NotExistFile,"%GlobalTemplates%\HDM8-SE\hdm8_se-20070203-0000-en.exe",Exit,"hdm8_se-20070203-0000-en.exe was not downloaded, so program cannot be added to PE build. Exiting script..."

:cheers:
