File name: Terabyte Image 1.70a
Description:Terabyte Image (for Windows) is a shareware application that @ low level is one of the best, if not the best, out there (imho).

It works so fine under VistaPE.

The registration request screen appears @ every launch, but the program doesn't show any limitation.

A blank "imagew.key" file was added in this script then it could be easily replaced with a registered one (in order to avoid registration request @ every launch).

[WB072 * VistaPE 008]

Simply copy the script in "\Win Builder\Projects\VistaPE\App\Disk Tools".

Enjoy! :yahoo:

Update 1:
Added "cdboot.f35" file and RunFromRAM option.
Now an image file can be burned even with one physical CD-ROM drive.

Update 2:
Added all needed files and Terabyte Image Viewer 3.00 in this script and edited a string about RunFromRAM option.

Update 3:
Added separate CheckBox(es) for both applications about RunFromRAM option.

File name: Image for Windows 1.70a
Description:
Terabyte Disk Backup and Restore

Shareware application that in my opinion is one of the best out there (if not the best - imho).

I always use it @ Low Level, never under Windows because one of my goals is the best as possible partition image creation.

The trial works very fine under VistaPE then nag registration screen appears @ every launch, but the program doesn't show any limitation.

To solve registered version nag screen issue then a ".key" file must be placed in the default program folder.

I include a blank "imagew.key" file in this project then it will be easily customizable with registered one.
Special thanks to allanf.

Hello Online,

I do a test of your Script and as you see by these Screenshots, there is a Problem :

The Directory "\Programs" is on the drive "Y:" and not "X:", where is the System Partition (Boot Partition), with "Program Files" and "Windows". But when I click with File Explorer on "Y:\Programs\Ifw\Imagew.exe", it work fine !!!

Can you fix this Problem ?

Thanks for your help !!!

@Haiphong,

A mystery!

Can you locate the file "vistape.cd"?

It should be in y:\

Maybe, it is in x:\

1. What is your x:\ ? Hard-drive Partition? RAM?

2. Do you boot from real CD or Virtual or other?

3. Do you create ISO with mkisofs in "Finalize: 7 - Create ISO"?

4. Do you "pack boot.wim" in "Finalize: 6 - Finalizing..."

At the moment, the Script is designed to run "Image for Windows" from CD. This comes from the very-much simplified "Create Script" Template in WinBuilder072. As a work-around try to run "Image for Windows" from x:\ (your RAM?), by replacing the existing [process] Section with:
Program#$sFiles\ifwEcho,"Copying files.."FileCopy,"%ScriptDir%\cdboot.f35","%TargetDir%\Program#$sFiles\ifw"FileCopy,"%ScriptDir%\imagew.exe","%TargetDir%\Program#$sFiles\ifw"FileCopy,"%ScriptDir%\imagew.key","%TargetDir%\Program#$sFiles\ifw"Echo,"Loading registry hive _linenums:0'>[process]Echo,"Making new directories.."DirMake,%TargetDir%\Program#$sFiles\ifwEcho,"Copying files.."FileCopy,"%ScriptDir%\cdboot.f35","%TargetDir%\Program#$sFiles\ifw"FileCopy,"%ScriptDir%\imagew.exe","%TargetDir%\Program#$sFiles\ifw"FileCopy,"%ScriptDir%\imagew.key","%TargetDir%\Program#$sFiles\ifw"Echo,"Loading registry hive: [%TargetDir%\Windows\System32\Config\software]"RegHiveLoad,WB-Software,%TargetDir%\Windows\System32\Config\softwareEcho,"Writing new values on registry hive.."RegWrite,HKLM,0x4,"WB-Software\TeraByte Unlimited\Image","Settings","3735557"RegHiveUnLoad,WB-SoftwareTXTAddLine,%ES%,"!PF\%ProgramFolder%\%ProgramEXE%#$c!DS\%ProgramTitle%.lnk#$c!PF\%ProgramFolder%","Append"TXTAddLine,%ES%,"!PF\%ProgramFolder%\%ProgramEXE%#$cTerabyte\%ProgramTitle%.lnk#$c!PF\%ProgramFolder%","Append"

It would be better to have the check-box option "Run from RAM" in the [interface] like many other Scripts, but that would require re-writing much more of this Script.

Hi Haiphong,

I see your desktop shortcuts pointing to programs that are not listed in Y:\ (which is the same as your "I:\Programs" directory).

Your desktop shortcuts all point to programs in "X:\Program Files" (your RAM)?

I think that shortcuts to programs in the "Programs" directory of a USB Key don't work properly? They do work well with CDs, because I have tested "Image for Windows" using the original script with IFW in my CD-Drive "D:\Programs" (VistaPE CD) I think that online tested that as well.

I really think that the USB Key has some issues with shortcuts when the programs are on the USB Key. But I don't have one to test.

Mystery not quite solved!

Thanks for the replies! :yahoo:

Hello Allanf,

I do a test from a CD and I have the Same Partitions than this of the USB 2.0 Key. As you see with this Screeshots :

X:, VOL = Boot ==> RamDisk :

X:, VOL = BooT ==> RamDisk, Directory = Program Files :

H: ==> CD :

Y: ==> CD, Directory = Programs :

Exactly the Same Partitions, the same Directories and the same Files between the CD and the USB 2.0 Key !!!

Regards.

Too complex for me! You have tested many more progams, and I am not up to your level of experience with these programs.

The mystery is the Shortcuts (Desktop and Startmenu) from online's Original Script as uploaded. In that Script, the shortcuts point to IFW in the "Programs" directory on removable media, not in RAM's "Program Files". I use CD, and you use USB Key. For me the shortcuts work very well, (unless CD is ejected. :yahoo: )

The amended Script, puts IFW in the RAM "Program Files". In this case, I think the shortcuts and program work for everyone, provided there is sufficient RAM.

Have you tried Shortcuts for your other programs in y:\ ?

I mean, have you tested shortcuts for your other programs in y:\ , when y:\ is your "Programs" folder on USB Key.

.. and when the shortcuts are created by Script, not after booting VistaPE.

Hello Haiphong!
Hi allanf!

Please note that running it from UFD then starting command line prompt tells that: "Searching disk with programs...not found. Trying start "wpeint.exe" and searching again...", however then all works fine.

Btw: I think that without compression the image file creation time can be reduced. :loleverybody:
