Hi trohde,

well I don't know of any such a script but if you already have such a product installed you may convert it to a script without much effort:
pedrole15 was so kind to create a script generator called "MakeScript".

This generator is definitely worth a try. With some luck you get the desired script and the program works without further adjustments.

I was very very busy the last days :1st: , so it took a while that I could make a test with Easy Recovery Professional v6.1.

Bad news :thumbup: , it looks like the software does not run on WinPE 2 (VistaPE). I did not try yet on a real Vista. On Windows XP and WinPE 1 (BartPE) it was not necessary to install Easy Recovery Pro but I only had to copy it by whatever medium (CD, USB stick, network) to a ram disk and run it (I can't remember if ram disk is really necessary, it could be that it also runs from CD).

I used the following script to copy Easy Recovery to VistaPE, the files need to reside in a subfolder EasyRecovery-files next to the script.
[Main]

Title=EasyRecovery

Author=Michael Zöllner

Type=Script

Level=5

Version=001

Description=EasyRecovery Professional

Contact=Michael.Zoellner@dlr.de

Date=2007-07-01

Selected=True

Download_Level=1

[Variables]

%Executable%=EasyRecovery.exe

%OutDir%=EasyRecovery

%PName%=EasyRecovery

%ParentItem%=Data Recovery

%pFileBox1%=%ScriptDir%\EasyRecovery-files

[Process]

Echo,Processing %PName%...

If,%pCheckBox1%,Equal,true,SET,"%DestDir%","Program#$sFiles\%OutDir%\"

If,%pCheckBox1%,Equal,false,SET,"%DestDir%","Programs\%OutDir%\"

If,%pCheckBox1%,Equal,true,SET,"%LinkDir%","%SystemDrive%\Program#$sFiles\%OutDir%\"

If,%pCheckBox1%,Equal,false,SET,"%LinkDir%","y:\%OutDir%\"

System,RefreshVars

DirMake,"%TargetDir%\%DestDir%"

DirCopy,"%pFileBox1%\*","%TargetDir%\%DestDir%"

TXTAddLine,%ES%,"!CD\%DestDir%\%Executable%,%ParentItem%\File Recovery.lnk,!CD\%DestDir%","Append"

[Interface]

pCheckBox1="Run from ram (boot.wim)",1,3,10,39,200,18,False
One problem showed up that there was no shortcut in neither BSExplorer or Explorer as shell. This was the first try to create a shortcut, ok, it did not work as expected. But the files were copied fine and I could start the program through cmd.exe, total commander or whatever. The program starts fine but as soon as one selects a task, eg. undelete files, the software finishes without any message. The task manager does not show the Easy Recovery task any longer.

Many Greetings
MichaelZ

Hello MichaelZ,

I am using EasyRecovery 6.1 Lite (from CT-CD) on VistaPE (Chip Edition), because I do not have any private Lisence for the Pro.

I have no problems since I included the .exe in the script.

But it does not work on Virtual PC 2007.
In that VM I see the same problem like you did.

Did you try it on a real PC ?

Greetings

Sorry for the delay in the reply, I was a week on vacation and then I was very busy.

Easy Recovery 6.1 both Lite and Pro don't run on VistaPE. I just installed a 'real Vista' on a 'real machine', same problem there. :loleverybody:

Hello MichaelZ,

I can run EasyRecovery Lite 6.1 from my VistaPE-CD, but I never tried to recover data from an normal Vista PC.
I was only scaning some XP PCs.

I heard about some changes in the Vista Filesystem, but I am not sure about it.
I will test my CD on an Vista PC at the end of this week at a friends house.

I have an another idea about your problem.
Maybe it has some similar background as my problem with PC Inspector Filerecovery on my old Winbuilder.
But we will see after my test.

Greetings,

Barkeeper
