I think that millenium is the worst os ever.
Well, there was Microsoft BOB...:
...OK I cheated, it was a shell, not an OS....
However Millennium Edition is not as bad as people depicts it, I am with MDGX in saying that some of the files that came with it are much better than Win98SE ones (some are commonly developed with Win2K ones, notoriously rock-solid), ME was simply "unfortunate" being squeezed between a large base of installed (and more or less working) Win98Se PC's and the change of policy in Microsoft marketing that led to giving a NT core to Windows XP home (in my opinion bastardizing Win2K).
Just as an example the DEFRAG and SCANDISK that come with ME is WAY better than original 98 one.
MDGX already explored almost everything that is better in ME than in 98:
The goal here is building the ultimate Windows 9x OS by "transplanting" ~ 700 newer ME system files onto 98 SE, and YES, you too CAN do this at home, kids... :-)
The home consumer edition of Windows 2000, codenamed "Windows Neptune", ceased development and Microsoft released Windows Me in its place. Eventually "Neptune" was merged into their new project, Whistler, which later became Windows XP.
Most probably the failure of ME (absolute) and that of Win2k (only as home OS) was due to the PC game market which was not fast enough to provide working solutions for the new systems.
But nonetheless, overall ME does cause problems.....

I can't find the site, though.

I do use Win ME DOS boot disks because it seems to handle large hard drives (80gig on up) better than most DOS versions. ME itself doesn't seem to have any advantages besides better support for USB storage media IMHO.
They added so many extra "features" it should prove to be a greater challenge than 98 or 95 from CD/RAM. Good luck! And I don't mean that in a sarcastic way..

The "unofficial" repository of anything 9x/Me minimization/boot from CD is this thread here:
and (marginally) here:
where the site you mentioned and many more are linked to.
As I see it, the method that has more "potentiality", besides the "winimization" one is the one here:
(using Nero Harddisk Emulation)
About drive sizes, recently a member of MSFN, LLXX has SUCCESFULLY modified some 98 drivers to BREAK the 137 Mb barrier! , find it here:
(please note that it is still experimental, do read the entire thread BEFORE using it, do not - for the moment - use it in a production system) - Do they exist production systems based on 98?

Idunno if production system running 98 still exist, but i actually run 98. On my G/F's laptop. Mainly cuz' it's a 700 MHz celeron (based off of pentium 2 probably) w a whopping 64 megs of ram.
What does your G/F produce, "STOP ERRORS" or "MEMORY FAULTS" ??

My better half uses a 2.4GHz celeron w/512 megs of ram and an ATI9250 (it's for schoolwork/WoW ) that i got her last year. And that works a tad better. (although i really am an AMD/nVidia man. But with the recent AMD/ATI merger, we'll see what happens to that..)
