I'm having trouble remembering the name of a particular tiny bootloader (or maybe just bootsector?) that was posted about here on Reboot quite some time ago. I can't even remember an approximate date of posting. I went digging back some pages but couldn't locate it. But I did read the topic then and downloaded it, pissed about with it in a VM for a while. I had a copy on an external drive but it seems it disappeared.

The author billed it as small and (possibly) based on Syslinux, and capable of being loaded from GPT or MBR (but not necessarily in legacy or UEFI mode). I think he also said it had hotkey support. And support for multiple filesystems without the need of an external loader. The emphasis was on speed. He did also mention that the code would remain closed source, but that individuals could use it in any way they deem fit for personal use.

Can someone here help me remember the name? I would like to test it again, I think it may prove useful in the future.

Thanks!

After a bit more digging I found the topic here. But it is by Wonko, not the author of the bootloader:

So, notwithstanding the (senseless) bickering you made at the time, after all, posting the info, even if "late" by your standards, served some purpose.

A good question might be if in the 1 1/2 years that passed since you posted about your missing the knowledge to use it you feel now ready for it.
