aim_cli tool help mentions a syntax to "start shared memory service mode, for mounting from other applications".

The general format is:

aim_cli /name=objectname [/mount[:removable]] [/readonly] [/buffersize=bytes] /filename=imagefilename [/provider=DiscUtils|LibEwf|MultiPartRaw] [/shared]
Can you give some practical example?

Depends on what you want to do, really. But principally, first start the listening "service end" of it, using this syntax:

aim_cli /name=shmobj /filename=C:\virtualdisks\image.vhd /provider=DiscUtils

And then, instruct the driver to mount, using this command line:

aim_ll -a -t proxy -o shm -f shmobj
