Chandra has developed a useful Windows utility which can take a Windows Install ISO (or extracted folder) and convert it into another ISO (or to an E2B FAT32 .imgPTN file if you have the E2B MPI Tool Kit installed).

The useful thing about this app is that it will CONVERT a large Install.wim or Install.ESD file into split-wim .swm files automatically.

A Win 8/10 system is required.

This means that the resulting files can be used on a FAT32 filesystem (e.g. for UEFI-booting).

It also works on the Microsoft ISOs that contain both \x86 and \x64 folders (with two Install.ESD\WIM files).

It also will convert SWM\ESD\WIM to .SWM automatically.

If you are an E2B user, just copy the .exe file into the MPI ToolKit folder and run it from there to be able to convert to .imgPTN files..

v1.0.8+ will automatically add the \efi\boot\bootx64.efi boot file to allow Win7 x64 install ISOs to UEFI-boot.

At the moment, it requires U: to be a free drive letter.

The latest version is here.

Please feedback any issues.

P.S. Microsoft say that Setup.exe in some versions of Windows Install ISOs does not support .SWM files.

As yet, I have not found a version that does not work but I have only tried a few Win8\10 ISOs so far.

Looks good.

It seems Microsoft did not like this program to be run. This program is also deleted after the first run.

It is because it has been downloaded. Just click More Info and Run and it will be OK.

This program is also deleted after the first run. After creating the ISO file and exit the program, it has been removed.

since the program was created by The LUACOM Library,
and there is a file "lua. 5.1.dll" and "autorun.exe"
roomates usually Considered "Potentially malicious" by some AV and that I think is an error detection.

and there is a file of http://www.nirsoft.n...ils/nircmd.htmlie nircmd.exe indeed from their website that the statement Sometimes Antivirus scanner reports that a program is infected with a virus or Trojan, even when the program is not really infected with any malicious code. Statement

This results Scan VirusTotal, only one that considers malicious

Thanks for the find! This will prove useful once I start integrating updates into my customized Windows 10 ISOs and they get >4GB.

If you're using UAC, SmartScreen, Windows Defender, Microsoft Security Essentials on your PC, then you're just an out-and-out idiot. I would rather have no protection whatsoever than use any of this garbage. Microsoft doesn't know jack about security anyway.

about Split WinISO :
- A portable application (no installation required)
- Installation requires support ImDIsk hands even then only very small in size (<400 KB)
- Required administrator access.
- Ability as roomates Windows utilities can take Windows Install ISO (or the extracted folder) and turn it into another ISO (E2B file .imgPTN or FAT32 if you have E2B MPI Tool Kit is installed).
- It also works on the Microsoft ISOs that contain both \x86 and \x64 folders (with two Install.ESD\WIM files)
- It requires drive U: to be a free drive letter
- It also will convert SWM\ESD\WIM to .SWM automatically.
- If you are an E2B user, just copy the .exe file into the MPI ToolKit folder and run it from there (no need download ImDisk)
- Do not run two or more simultaneously as it will make the system crash and the engine load is very high resource

- Process Convert (ISO or the extracted folder):
1. ESD files --> converted into a large WIM files --> split into small SWM files --> make New ISO or imgPTN (FAT32)
2. Large Wim files --> split into small SWM files --> create a new ISO or imgPTN (FAT32)
3. Large SWM files --> merge into single WIM files --> re-split into smaller SWM files --> create New ISO or imgPTN (FAT32)

for user E2B (button MPI):
1. There will be an option to add the file to boot.wim MySetup.cmd and Winpeshl.ini or not
2. Before making imgPTN will have the option to specify the file system (FAT32 or NTFS)

for Split Size:
automatic correction when the process is carried out to convert,
there will be a warning:
1. If the Enter split size > install.wim / swm / esd
2. If the Enter split size > 4000 Mb
3. For ESD will create a new split size if it is done to convert to a WIM file.

Bug Report :
1. Some antivirus and firewall may block this tool
2. If during your conversion process to stop or cancel or occur corrupt,
This application further can not be executed perfectly, it is because there are still scars the Windows installation files are still left in your computer system that is not completely wasted.

Solution:
1. Please disable or whitelist as required. (it was a "False Positif" or False Alert")
2. Perform manual removal of the entire file or folder in the Temp folder, especially folder : Win, Both, Back, mount86 and mount64, by enabling the take ownership of the folder and remove the read only and hidden attributes. Reboot your computer and then Run the application.

Input and advice will be needed - please feedback any issues.

Final Version 1.0.5

- Improved methods of convert file ESD in the previous version the user is given the option to choose the version of Windows in the INSTALL file (specifically AIO), are now made automatically convert all.
- Changes compressor to split WIM and merge SWM file. using compression LZX, and LZMS usually outperform and Microsoft outcompress their equivalents to make decompression faster
- Changes in appearance (giving the name of the header as well as the version number and date of manufacture)
- Update version dll files
- The addition of new features : Supports convert source cross-platform that differ in a single ISO.
Although I have never seen that in the official MS ISO.
But there are some people who experimented with combining into one (AIO).

  Previous only support :
  Official MS ISO
  1. x86\sources\install.esd and x64\sources\install.esd
  2. x86\sources\install.wim and x64\sources\install.wim
  3. x86\sources\install.swm and x64\sources\install.swm
  3. install.esd
  4. install.wim
  5. install.swm

  Now support also :
Experiment people build All-in-One ISOs (AIO)

  1. x86\sources\install.esd and x64\sources\install.wim
  2. x86\sources\install.esd and x64\sources\install.swm
  3. x86\sources\install.wim and x64\sources\install.esd
  4. x86\sources\install.wim and x64\sources\install.swm
  5. x86\sources\install.swm and x64\sources\install.esd
  6. x86\sources\install.swm and x64\sources\install.wim

For a while, then there will be no additional features and updates unless the bug until it is found or correction by the user.

Thanks

Update v.1.1.0b (2017/03/26)  16 MB

Found Bug
Error occurs when pressing the View button:
- Due to delays in getting information on each index and aggregate all the information into a single take.
so that the next command can not find the end result of the previous process.
- This also occurs if the ISO is AIO consists of a lot of image, so that indexing takes considerable time.

Change Log :

improvements :
+ Giving time pause a few seconds to display the loading animation, when the button is clicked View Button.
So there is a space of time to complete the process of gathering information and get the final result to be displayed.

Update v.1.1.0 (2017/03/28)  16 MB

Change Log :
+ Changes to the theme (including icons, and buttons)
+ Addition Column Image (value index)
+ Additional features View Button (description of all the install file)
+ The update button that directly leads to the download address, so they can check if there are new updates.
+ Detection of applications already open, so that the application can not be opened simultaneously more than one.
+ Giving time pause a few seconds to display the loading animation, when the button is clicked View Button.
So there is a space of time to complete the process of gathering information and get the final result to be displayed.

- There is a little bug when a Images column is 0 and the results View Wim-Info get an error.
If it happens please re-Load your ISO file or close the application and open it again.
this is likely due to a delay in the response of Dism.exe to execute commands.

It happened in a small part of the ISO and the engine computer, and not all
(Still under observation)
