Hello,

I need some assistance in regards to booting mac os dmg image from grub4dos.

My USB currenltly has 2 primary partitions: 1st: 137GB, and 2nd is 107GB. The USB itself is a USB-to-SATA bridge, and all partitions are seen as fixed.

I know this may be possible with Easy2Boot but I am reluctant in using it because I'll have to change my whole file structure, curretnly being groupped into iso, img, flp etc.

Or if I have to Easy2Boot, could someone teach me how to use while still using my grub4dos version and menu.lst? I'd like to keep my current grub4dos menu.

Thank you

Actually it simply means that none replied to your thread.

It is possible that noone cares for your request of assistance, or that everyone is too busy right now, or that your request is seen somehow as irrelevant, or that the people that may know the matter didn't see the thread,  who knows?

The only sure thing is that it can be done, since Easy2boot can do it, and since Easy2boot is essentially a (clever) set of menus and batch files making use of grub4dos functionalities, definitely it can be done.

Which is the difficult part in:

:unsure: ?

You could explain to the OP how "your" way works, so that it can adapt it to his files structure...

@Alexander Ceed

Normally one would procure a spare USB device, use the Easy2boot to make sure that the method works, and then adapt it to the different files structure, AFAICT the real issue is making an actually valid, booting .dmg image, then what is used is little more than the "isohybrid" partnew approach originally by cdob:

http://reboot.pro/to...brided/?p=88531

and widely used since for Linux and other OS partitions images, of course adapted to the Mac OS image, Steve6375 has actually detailed how Easy2boot works specifically for these kind of images:

http://rmprepusb.blo...osemite-to.html

though from what I can understand, it seems like the whole thing is about Mac OS X installer (in a .dmg image), from your post it seems like you asked for a "live image"? :dubbio:

The "OSX_Installer_HFS_Boot.mnu" that you can find here:

https://drive.google...aUxBb0FXbmppeDA

is simple enough, it just maps the partition/volume image to (hdn,3) and chainloads its bootsector.

hello to all, I use grub4dos, little memo for my use of Grub4Dos to launch chameleon or throw chameleon and a Mac OS X system link to a DMG or VHD file, from the boot of Windows. In absolute terms it must implement 7 maneuvers to arrive at the result, but by automating a little, it does with 3 manipulations.

EDIT:

the tutorial is here:

http://reboot.pro/to...and-dmg-or-vhd/

and here:

and here is the French version:

@deek5

It is not like you have to revive each and every thread ever made on reboot.pro about dmg re-posting over and over the same things.

Now is about the right time to stop doing it, OK? :)

Hi, who are you (asshole)?

I am the old, grumpy, bastard who has moderator powers (against his will BTW) on this forum and the one that has just edited your post, basically because I can.

From time to time, when I have nothing better to do, I like to spend my time harassing new users, particularly when they senselessly revive old threads re-posting the same things.

Unfortunately you can't sue me, but you can write a mail to Nuno with a formal complaint.

Nice to meet you :), I am sure you'll make a lot of friends here on reboot.pro with your attitude[1]

[1] Before you ask, yes, I managed to make a few (actually very few) friends with my attitude and yes, I could have probably made many more were I not a grumpy old bastard.

@Wonko: Oh wow, really? This, coming from an ex-admin, but still has mod powers? It certainly can't be against your will, since Nuno can grant your account any powers he wants regardless of your opinion....but that doesn't mean you have to use them. Noone holds a gun to your head while you edit posts. If you are going to relinquish your powers then you should completely stop using any you have. I haven't actually noticed you do it before, none of mine seem to be touched by you, WHY, considering all the grief I gave you? I'm probably the biggest dick on the forum, just a facet of my personality.

@deek5: Like minds attract each other.

And by the way, the biggest difference between me and Wonko, is that he happened to attract few friends as a result of being a grumpy old bastard, whereas I simply don't care to have any friends, I'm my own best friend and that's all I need. I don't actively seek to make enemies, it just happens as a side effect of things I say and do, I'm not known for holding my tongue, and I always speak my mind regardless of what others think.

Call me a dick, asshole, reject, demagogue, sociopath, psycho, whatever insult people can throw doesn't phase me at all. Ive heard all that and a lot more.
