Hi everybody,

I have a Dell latitude laptop that have built-in SDHC media card reader, I have created my custom Linux on it and it can boot from USB-CardReader without any error but when I plugged it in the built-in SDHC media card reader, it never found by BIOS boot menu!

Also, I have GRUB2 in my HDD boot menu and when I run command prompt in GRUB2, the [ls] command never show any (hd1) devices but when I used USB-CardReader it could detect right!

How can I boot GRUB2 into built-in SDHC card?

Regards.

In your case, the correct phrasing would be to boot from, not into, your laptop's card reader.

With that said, very few notebooks have the ability to boot via an internal SD. Booting an SD reader plugged in via USB is usually no issue, since the BIOS will see it as a USB device.

Unless you can find some way to chainload your internal SD, this probably will never work. Even then GRUB2 will need some kind of driver/firmware/module/etc so that it can see the SD reader at all.

Thanks to your suggestions,

What about PLOP or Grub4dos?

Is that they can detect and boot from the internal SD?

Or I must search for GRUB2 driver/firmware/module/etc?
