Your phone can literally get hacked *just* by giving out your #.....

A better topic title would have been "Your # is literally the *only* thing needed to hack your phone.....". Eh well, whatever.

Your lock screen pin#, encryption pass, Google 2-factor authentication,etc are not enough to protect you. You don't even need to root/jailbreak/software-modify anything (all of which decrease security in favor of hackability), what was discovered is independent of anything you do. It is a vulnerability that has been known for a very long time, but generally amongst hackers and others "in the know".

 

Just goes to show how vulnerable and easily hackable our everyday technology is. And how gullible people really are. Although it would probably still work even if you took good security measures and made all the right decisions.
