Hi,

My requirement is to create a dual boot in a 64bit UEFI based windows 8.1 Laptop(with 1TB GPT disk). The second OS should be a 32bit WinPE 4.0. For this I had created a WinPE image using WinADK and copied the boot files to a seperate partition in the system. Then I made a dual boot entry in the BCD using EasyBCD. The dual boot menu appears fine but when I select the 32bit WinFE option, it results an error saying

File: \Windows\System32\Boot\winload.exe is missing (status: 0xc0000359).

Why this happen? Any solutions ? please help

If you boot as UEFI, the OS must match the architecture.

This is "by design".

As Wonko stated the OS must match the provessor, so you would need to boot PE 64 bit in order to accomplish this.

I've found it easier to create WinPE ISOs and use Easy2Boot on USB drives to select the PE ISO and boot it that way.  You would have to enable legacy boot in order to do this.

The last system I needed to do this to after coming to the above conclusion I reinstalled Windows in MBR mode.  This will work as long as boot disk is not over 2TB and require a GPT disk.
