Hi,

I want use easy2boot on my main système (hd0), not on usb (bd) :

My Settings of (hd0) are like follow :

*Part1 or (hd0,0) : System Windows A

*Part2 or (hd0,1) : System Windows B

*Part3 or (hd0,2) : Datas

*Part4 or (hd0,3) : Easy2Boot

* = Partition Principal NTFS

I copied all the files and directories of Easy2boot on Part4 (hd0,3) and i installed grub4dos on MBR !

At boot time Grub4Dos check grldr on (hd0,0), (hd0,1), (hd0,2), (hd0,3), find it on (hd0,3) and load [of course] menu.lst

Anyway i get this Message Error :

Booting Easy2Boot v1.62 (4) - counting files please wait ...

ERROR: PARTITION TABLE 4 (type0x7)  IS ALREADY IN USE ON THIS DRIVE!

Press C and [Enter] to delete it :

I tried to check the FAQ, but easy2boot website is little bit like a mess and i can't find solution to my problem !

Maybe here ? : http://www.easy2boot...ions-or-drives/

Anyway i don't understand so much and do u have idea how to solve this problem ?

Thanks

E2B is for USB drives not your internal hard disk.

If you want to use it on an internal hard disk, you should be knowledgeable and experienced in booting and partitions or else you could end up destroying your hard disk!

Read http://www.easy2boot.../how-e2b-works/

E2B MUST have ptn 4 free.

Yeah, i removed 1 partition like this :

*Part1 or (hd0,0) : System Windows

*Part3 or (hd0,2) : Datas

*Part4 or (hd0,3) : Easy2Boot

* = Partition Principal NTFS

---

And i can see now the easy2boot menu but if i try to install Windows 8 (for example), i get :

WARNING: To install Windows from a USB hard disk you also need an E2B HELPER USB Flash drive.

If you do not have one you will get a 'DVD drive device driver is missing' message.

Please read the Easy2Boot Tutorial or more details.

But i guess the answer is here :

3. To install Windows Vista/7/8/etc.  (or XP via WinPE method)  onto a target system, connect both the Easy2Boot USB hard disk and the USB flash drive - but boot from the Easy2Boot hard disk.

That's mean i need to plug an additional USB Flash drive with the proper configuration on, to do the job !

Anyway by this, it become uninteresting for me to apply Easy2Boot on an Internal Hard Drive, but i guess the answer is :

E2B is for USB drives not your internal hard disk.

The best way for me is now to make an Easy2Boot for my SD Port, but my machine seem don't boot on the integrated SD Drive. It's a Lenovo Yoga 2!

Any ideas, any tricks to boot on it ?

Thank!

If you installed Win8 from the hard disk, it would replace the grub4dos with a bootmgr boot sector and you would lose the E2B menu anyway.

It seems rather a strange thing to do???

re. SD Card slot port - if the system does not support it as a boot device then there is nothing you can do.

Yeah i understand what u tell!

It's only the MBR i need to reinstall, and it can done easy after the first boot of Windows, because all the others files of grub4dos (and easy2boot) are on (hd0,2) in my case ! (It also easy to add : chainloader (hd0,0)/bootmgr in menu.lst)

Anyway, it was the advantage to have all my boot tools already intagrated in the boot phase of my computer (if i loose or forgot my easy2boot Usb key), and maybe also to launch and install the differents systems more fast than as an USB Device memory.

Now maybe you get the point xD

uhhh.. not really??

Anyway, you don't need a Helper Flash drive if you convert the ISOs to .imgPTN files using MakePartImage.

Why not just use following configuration in your internal hard disk for emergency ?

*Part1 or (hd0,0) : System Windows 8.1 Update 3

*Part2 or (hd0,1) : System Windows 10 TP

*Part3 or (hd0,2) : Data

*Part4 or (hd0,3) : Windows Installer/Win8.1SEPE

I mean just extract your favorite Windows Installer within (hd0,3) and add Boot Entry for Windows Installer within Main BCD of your System manually by using Bootice/BCDEdit. I think By this way you can fresh install Windows without using any USB Drive.

Alternatively, You can add Boot Entry of Win8.1SEPE within Main BCD of your System and then You can use 'WinNTSetup v3.7.5' within from Win8.1SEPE in order to install any Windows OS within your Internal Hard disk directly from Standalone ISO Images.

May be it can help you in situation when you forget your E2B USB Drive :cheerleader: .....

Cheers...
