Amazing stuff: http://www.winbeta.o...gb-microsd-card

The ‘200GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UH-I card, Premium Edition’ will be available sometime in Q2 2015, and will be priced at $399.99. It also comes with a 10 year limited warranty so you don’t have to worry if it suddenly stops working

Can finally start building my thumb-sized SAN array. :-)

I'll wait till they drop to $99 and then get one, by that time the 500GB ones will be out :)

... you only need to be worried for the data that you backed up on a new, three month old,  zillion Terabytes hard disk that failed for no apparent reason the same day the SDXC did. :(

More seriously, The Hive is right , and it reminds me of my (completely faked, BTW) calculations on durability of USB sticks; only this is much smaller and costs some 25 to 50 times the money:

Knowing myself, I would reduce the "useful life" of the thingy  from the average 10 months in the above, to around 6 months .

these cards are cool and do not need as much power as an usb stick , i saw that with a 64 Go card in the usb keyb hub that only have 100 mA ...but the usb adaptater [i used one from kingston that was offered with a 8 Go card]  can loose a lot of electricity....and create bad surprise when contact is made . i had not trouble with the large model card adaptater for card reader

yes, will wait for price drop on these.

does anyone know of a USB adaptor that accepts two or more microSD cards and which allows access to each one simultaneously?

Are you dreaming of something *like* a USB RAID using SD Cards as storage? :w00t:

Here is an "old" model (USB 2), maybe sooner or later they will make a USB 3 version (and maybe even ship it out of Japan):

For some reasons the home page is not working, get it through google cache:

yes, That! seems to have been available since 2010 (in japan). surprisingly there is not much chatter about it anywhere though.

I wasnt thinking RAID specifically but that might be useful too. but if you had four 200gb microSD cards loaded that would essentially be an 800gb flashdrive.

I think this would be an idea someone like elegantinvention (ISOstick) should consider.

thanks

It had to happen soon. the Samsung Galaxy S5 (not even the current model S6! but the previous version) can hold a 128GB micro SD card. That's a lot of MP3 files.
