grub4dos 0.4.6a can map non-contiguous files

According to yaya, grub4dos 0.4.6a can map non-contiguous files without having to use --mem.

Yes, I read the issue at https://github.com/chenall/grub4dos/, that's very interesting.

 

I intended to suggest this feature to Chenall but forgot :(

 

Anyway, I'm interested also how it's gonna affect the speed of the file mapping and/or reading. I wonder if the information about the file fragments is retrieved during the mapping operation or "on the fly"...

If yes, it may be needed a command like map --contig to allow partnew mapping (or give the usual "file not contiguous error") :unsure:
