Is only part of the icon visible?

Maybe it's an issue from the Emulator and not from your boot disk - maybe if you burn the ISO on a CD-RW and try to run your boot disk on a real computer it will be shown as expected..

This is surely a strange issue - would probably be easier to figure out the reason if no icons were shown at all..

This is the first report of something like this, more information is needed to understand what could be going wrong, please let us know:

- Your windows version (XP, Vista, SP1, SP2, language..)
- Your windows source (Vista DVD, WAIK..)
- What steps are needed to reproduce this error (have you edited anything, or nothing at all)
- Wich version of WinBuilder and VistaPE you're using
- The log.html file in order to follow the progress of your project while it was built.

Also include any informations you find relevant to help tracking down the reasons - thank you!!

Still no VistaPE or LiteStep user but, i guess, you defined the columns for the icons too small. So the icon gets truncated to not interfere with the one tha t will come right next to it.

It's in one of the configuration files of litestep. Sorry that i can't help you more, i just remembered that such a setting exists, from some thread in the forum here.
It was something about not all icons showing up.

Yes, medEvil's suggestion sounds the best approach since your build environment doesn't seem to be the reason.

You can read the feedback from the icons issue here:
http://www.boot-land...cons-t1736.html

btw: You should also download the latest published wb 068 - there were a few changes since beta 14.

You can use that beta if you wish - I was mentioning the published 068 (not beta) - it is the one nightman uses as reference for VistaPE.

MedEvil probably meant for you to see the method how the configuration files inside the liteStep shell were edited and use this as support for editing the files yourself.

Hopefully more people will have more specific ideas on why this happens, in the meanwhile - good luck tracking down these bugs..

WinBulider_directory\Projects\VistaPE\App\System\LiteStep\themes\austerity\config\desktop_icons_9x.rc. Open in a text editor and make the changes marked in bold:

IF TopBar
*DeskFolder align(left) background(transparent) contents(all) folder($Desktop$) font($IconFont$/8) labels(transparent) text($IconTxtColour$) position(0, 100) size($ResolutionX-10$, $ResolutionY-100$) view(icon)

ELSE
*DeskFolder align(left) background(transparent) contents(all) folder($Desktop$) font($IconFont$/8) labels(transparent) text($IconTxtColour$) position(0, 10) size($ResolutionX-10$, $ResolutionY-10-100$) view(icon)
ENDIF
