Hi,

I have been using tftpd32 v 2.8, but if I upgrade to v.303 /v320 I get
error: tftp failed opening file when making a choice on the successfully transferred PXE menu.

I'm using a local ini file and the error from the log is

<mba.pxe>: sent 4 blks, 4538 bytes in 4 s. 0 blk resent [22/04 22:18:01.995]
Connection received from 192.168.144.40 on port 2073 [22/04 22:18:03.984]
Read request for file <C:\PXE\ghost-2GB-dg-down.sys>. Mode octet [22/04 22:18:03.984]
File <C:\PXE\ghost-2GB-dg-down.sys> : error 123 in system call CreateFile The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect. [22/04 22:18:03.984]

I can confirm that the file exists in this location, well it must as the only thing I change is the version of tftd32 and it stops working with this error.

Whats changed or what do I need to changed ?

Thanks inadvance..

Paul

Read request for file <C:\PXE\ghost-2GB-dg-down.sys>. Mode octet [22/04 22:18:03.984]
File <C:\PXE\ghost-2GB-dg-down.sys> : error 123 in system call CreateFile The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect. [22/04 22:18:03.984]

In order to enhanced the security, the dos directory syntax is now refused. You have to use a virtual directory and ask for the file /PXE/ghost-2GB-dg-down.sys or /ghost-2GB-dg-down.sys (depends on your base directory).

Hi,

I'm not sure I follow you but I have tried changing the base directory to

[TFTPD32]
BaseDirectory=/PXE

no luck, and the error always refers to c:\PXE\....

could you explain a little further so I can fix this.

Paul

I should add that I use 3com boot image editor (ImgEdit.exe) to create my menu and pxe files.

Please, could you post your mba.pxe file ?

Have you tried to set the security parameter to None ?

Hi,

I have just tried it with security set to none, still the same.

mba.pxe has been uploaded ( had to rename to mba.pex.txt ). Under the menu path I have tried C:\PXE\ \PXE\ both with the same result.

and the answer is......

when editing the mba.pxe ensure that the path ( under the options tab ) is empty..problem solved !

Cheers

Paul
